Brakes & Rotors???
Hey guys everytime I go in to get my brake pads changed the sales service rep tell me that they have to change my rotors as well. So I am shelling out big bucks everytime for a brake job, a little over a thousand dollars canadian. Any suggestions.

They told me the same thing until my old SA at MB Manhattan told me you can actually go through 2 sets of pads for every set of rotors.

thanks ken so you also recommend that rotors get changed every other time I take it in for pads.
The service advisor was saying that if I only change pads then the groves on the rotors will not match those on the new pads as it doesnt have any and this will force the pads to wear out quicker...what do you think?

Ken, I replaced my pads once at around 32k miles (tell me about it, I don't use the brakes too much lol), and now I am at 43k miles. My rotors are going (I figure another 6-8k), so should I just replace the pads again? Something tells me old pads+new rotors won't work optimally.

However, I must tell you - and my S.A knows this - but with my previous W220 - i started taking it to midas. They ordered OEM pads/Rotors, and the price (TOTAL PRICE = PARTS AND INSTALLATION) was exactly HALF what i paid at the dealership.
With the W221..... i dont know if i can do that anymore - I have to check. But - it was a great price.
