Sterring rack Problems?

First off please excuse me but **** I HATE MY CAR!!!! With that frustration out so once again my car is in the shop. I have spent almost 10K out of pocket this past year, the previous year about 8K and I am still having problems.

I was just told that my steering rack is going out? And a rebuilt one is $1500 does this sound right? Has anyone had this problem and if so would you please tell me how much you spent.

Thanks

When i make a sharp turn i hear a light knocking sound. The shop said it will be fine for now and just keep a eye or a ear on it. The sound is not bad right now but after he told me all i do is listen to for noises.

well when turning the steering wheel normally it makes a noise as if you turned the wheel fully and were holding it all the way. and its very stiff not soft and easy, when i got the car back from repair it took little to no effort to turn now its back to where it was kinda like my friends g35 coupe

well the car went if cause a pulley broke in to a million parts and the belt came off and i had no powersteering and the alternator wasnt being charged and while it was there i asked to have the ball joints looked at cause there was a sqeak when i went over bumps and they said it was the control arms so they replaced both of them on either side
