Brake Assist, ESP, Lights won't go away

I had an airmatic problem, found it to be a bad pump, replaced it and now I have a different problem. The right side of my car is always lower by 1 ". In the process of troubleshooting it, I pulled all of the fuses to check them. Now when I turn on the car (2000, S430) I get two warnings: Brake Assist, and ESP. It also won't go out of park as well.

As per another thread suggesting a method of resetting them. I tried starting the car, turning the steering wheel all the way to the right, and then all the way to the left, then to the middle. Turned if off for 15 seconds, and started it back up. It didn't reset them.

Also, the right side of my car sits lower by 1" now as well. It is not a leak. I can have it raised to be even by disconnecting the control arms of the sensors on both of the wheels and tricking the airmatac compressor into thinking it is low, but when I connect it back it goes back down. I have disconnected the airmatic compressor and measured the hight of all of the wheel wells from the ground (27") and they do not change over a 3 day period of time, and so I know it is not because of a leak.

Is there some sort of calibration that has to be done after resetting the system or replaicng the airmatic pump?

It could be just a coincidence that I can't get it out of Park, I know there is a switch that can be replaced on the brake pedal, but I am thinking the ECU has to be reset. How can I do that.

Sorry for the length of this thread.

Any help you could give me would be very much appreciated.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

And be ready to do a bunch of resets after reconnecting the battery - here: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...ml#post2216730

Can ECU lock shifter in Park?

Will resetting the ECU with the method on the link you provided unlock my shifter. After working on the car this weekend and pulling fuses and relays, it is now stuck in Park (in addition to the Brake Assist/ESP light on).

Could just be a coincidence, but thought the way MBZ is these days that it is probably the brain locking it in Park.

Thanks again for the info!

Locked Shifter

I did disconnect the battery, and nothing has changed. Disconnecting the battery didn't appear to do anything (everything with memory still works the same in the car i.e, windows, sunroof etc.) I am guessing that I will have to do the full ECU reset as mentioned above in a different thread, but don't want to until I can find out if the shifter can actually be locked by the ECU or not.

Leveling System Calibration

Finally got the car out of Park (hate to admit it but when checking the fuses, put one back in the wrong place leaving the Brakes System without a fuse). Thanks for all of the info above. All of it has been exstremely helpful. I now have only one thing left to do and that is to calibrate the leveling system.

My right side is 1" below my left side at all times, and it is not a result of leaks. How do I reset it. I have tried setting the car level and then taking the wheelse back and forth from end to end but it didn't make a difference. Is it a matter of disconnecting the leveling sensors in the each wheel and taking the control lever from the min-max point one at a time to tell the computer the mins and maxes.

I know that I can take it to the MBZ stealer and have them do it on the computer, but I would rather figure out a way to do it myself.

Any ideas?
