Bumper Swap
Will the 2003-2006 s-class AMG front, rear and side skirts bolt on to a 2000-2002 s-class with no modifications? I think so but wanted to make sure before I start buying parts?
Thanks....
Thanks....

The 00-02 has a smaller front grill, where the bumper comes up at the inside corners of the headlights, and held there by two 10mm bolts. The '03 and up cars had a larger grill that meets the bumper. You will have to modify this area for the bumper to work. The skirts and rear bumper are straight swap. I went with the older style amg bumper which was easier, but doesn't give as aggressive look.

I did mine. You will have to change to a 03-06 hood, grill & bumper strips. If you have parktronic you will have to change the sensors as well. It is not a cheap change over but your car will look like a late model one.

The bumper (car) in the pic is an 03+ AMG Style. BUT if you read the note it states that you would receive a 00-02 bumper and would need to modify it to fit 03-06 cars which s exactly what everyone has been saying.
I wish I could fine a bumper for my 04 that would allow me to mount lower fog lights and it not cost a zillion to do. I wish the W220 S'class came with fog lights at the bottom like everything else on the road..I wish.. I wish.. I wish.

I just wish we could get those AMG kits here in the UK for those kind of prices, fibreglass or not. Been looking for 2 years now and only found one place, who is asking almost as much for fibreglass parts as Mercedes want for the original ones.

Thanks icwater but he is still not a U.K. supplier and postage costs + import duties from the U.S. to here cost as much as the parts themselves if not more.

I've been researching on at that after market bumper for a while. It is a Duraflex brand kit. Distributed by Extreme Dimension. They are a huge import body kit importer in CA. The front bumper itself is about $400. The Entire kit is about $1000-$1200.
Duraflex use a resin injected fiberglass material. It is somewhat flexible. Wont crack like straight fiber glass.
Haven't seem one in person yet but I would love to see pictures if anyone get the bumper or the Kit.

All Wheel Supply in Walnut does it but it's out here in SoCal. I researched that route before and even the guy, Sander, said its doable but will cost. Spend the money and get the whole thing cause if you get an accident, you'll do it all over again.
