Those wheel must be too wide or the offsets are incorrect, or the tires are the wrong size,, it could be any of the above.. BUT you have to tell us what you installed and what your setup consists of.. Otherwise we can all guess. Normally no one goes from a 16 to an 18 and has problems, so your should be easy if we knew what you had.

sounds like the offset is too low and pushing the wheels out further than they should if it's rubbing against the fender. do you know what the offset and width of the wheels are?

On order for an 18" wheel to touch you INNER fender wheel with those tires, your offset has to be in the 20"s which is waaay wrong for a mercedes.. This is your problem.. Where did you get those wheels?

More importantly who bought those wheels and who installed those things? you better check your mechanic.

is the car lowered? if not, even with an offset in the low 20s, the tires would poke past the fenders, but the wheels shouldn't be rubbing against the fenders unless your car is low enough to tuck the tires. did you buy the wheels with the tires on them already? if so, make sure that they are balanced properly. another thing to check would be to see if the wheels are mounted to the hubs properly.

Q for S500 Man

I noted you have the same S500. Mine is in silver.

I should be ok installing a set of factory E55 5 spokes, correct? The 16 inch stock wheels make the car look a little top heavy -- IMHO.

Also, what are the other great bang for the buck upgrades and cost of each?

I saw something in your tag about 03 mirrors -- what should I expect to pay to swap mirrors? Same for tail lights. Is there a before and after pic?

Thanks a ton.

I have a question for all, would your suspension have anything to do with this problem. I recently upgrade to 18in from stock and also notice that when the car is on an uneven road or bump the rear wheel would rub the outside of the tire and also there's some vibration when traveling at mile that exceed 60 mph and sometimes uncontrollable pulling (left to right or right to left).

I when with the spec that tire rack suggested: 245/45/18 front and 275/40/18 rear.

These are some Rennen wheels and I found out that the offset is 38. MB recommend that you use an offset between 35 and 42 so i'm not sure why these don't fit. Did you take yours off and went with some originals?

Does changing your wheels increase/decrease gas mileage? I'm noticing that i'm burning alot more gas than usual since I changed my wheels from stock to 18in.
