bad sun visor, driver side
you guys ever have problems w/ the sun visor being very difficult to move?
i thot it could just be lubrication, but mechanic saying likely the springs inside are gone and need to replace entire piece? how much is that?
thx.

$210 retail and $144 wholesale according to my indep mechanic.
funny thing, i think it's part of the S55 Technical Svc Bulletin, but I can't find the 2002 S55 to see if possibly it could be covered. anyone have access to that?

yeah i had an issue with the driver side visor as well. i tried my hardest to fix it myself, but i just couldnt find the problem. took it to the dealer and they had to replace the whole unit, cost me around $250 for the part and install
Sticky driver visor…
I also had this problem with my S-430 ’00. I think it’s fairly common; however I was successful in eliminating that problem. I saw this suggestion on another MB forum. First remove the entire visor (two screws), take your time. Don’t loose it when I say this get some WD-40 & insert the (red) straw into the spray nozzle. Slowly and carefully insert the straw into the shaft part of the visor and spray intermittently. DO NOT SATURATE THE VISOR. Do this in sections around the shaft; I did it four times as if I was trying to lubricate all four sides of a box. Please be careful not to get any WD-40 on the material portion of the visor. Once this has been done work the visor around and around several times. When done reassemble the visor. Finally get a small towel and spray a small amount of WD-40 on it. Fully extend both visors and wipe the dry filthy grimy substance away. It may sound a little weird but it worked for me.

how about a sagging visor? It hangs down a few inches when you have it pushed all the way up.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks

me too, sagging/stiff
all can be attributed to the "stiff" pivot rod. the dealer told me $450 so you guys are getting a deal. if they are only a couple hundred ill replace it now.
