How Much is your insurance?

I spoke to this lady and she told me a figure like 700 a month..
or if I pay for 4 months right away its 400.
Im located in NY.
Geico..
P.S Father will be listed as primary driver he is above 50. This way I can save massive amounts of $
Is this correct?

Wtf?? How old are you? 700 even 400 per month is cazy for a brand new car let alone some used car. Unless you have a bunch of tickets.

Have you owned a car before? If my memory serves me correctly, you are looking for a 25 to 28K mercedes right? Do the math... $700 X 12 = $8400 per. Times the length of your loan (5years) comes out to $ 42K in premiums.

Now ask yourself. What exactly would make insurance cost almost twice the current value of the loan and the car?

When your answer comes out to nothing! you have realized that your posting this quote is whack....

It should ever cost more than 7% of the Book value of a car when it is purchased. if you are old enough to drive and your record is clean and even 7% is high.

That's more like it as I am assuming you are under 25. But my Question to you is, you don't have a benz yet so what did you get a quote on a certain make and year? Rates in NY are nuts...
I'm paying about 1300 a year for full coverage on my 2004 here in TX. An I have multi-Line.

$228 is haven for me.

I will be driving under my fathers name since we got diff adresses and he is 52. He will be listed as the primary driver.

I think you would be crazy to pay that much insurance for that car. (any car).
I about 1.5 years, you would have paid the loan off in full. Then what?
IF you think that's worth it too you, the go for it. I know rates are higher in New York, but they can not be that high...

You must have told the Ins. company that you are a driver of the vehicle.

Did you know that in all States, IF the driver of a vehicle doesn't not have the same physical address of the insured, he or she does not have to be listed as a driver as all and will still be covered in the event of an accident?

This is why you can rent a car without having to pay the extra insurance otherwise you would not be covered at all..

If your fathers single rate is that high, one of the Items I mentioned above must apply to him. Otherwise, He should buy the car, and put the insurance in his name only. I can not believe that rate.... That is sick for a used car. That is sick for a NEW car....

BTW. it only costs about 80 bucks a month to cover that car in Texas where it is being sold....

So you are prepared to pay around $1600.00 (1100 ins + 500 payment) for that car thats only worth about 20K ? You should think long and hard about that decision.

My06CLK you misread it

Im Paying 228 a month. I was saying it would cost 1100 if i did it under my name. Its under my fathers name.

"Did you know that in all States, IF the driver of a vehicle doesn't not have the same physical address of the insured, he or she does not have to be listed as a driver as all and will still be covered in the event of an accident?"

This is exactly what im doing my friend. My father is the primary driver. Im not listed anywhere.

All info under father.

Also he is lazy to fill out Loan Forms rofl.

So he will pay a check and I will schedule monthly payments with him.
Or I can just pay in full, but I'd rather pay low monthly payment have $$ on the side

p.s I bid up to 20k atm and outbid, will try to win on last minutes.

I like this car because its seems to have almost no problems. just routine normal service.

On the CarFAx

Electrical Issue at 21k

like 10 visits in between with no repairs.

And Suspension at 42k.

No more issues until 80k

You have 9 hours to decide but you are only 2K away.. If you have the $$ you might as well BIN. thats a real good price for that car..I'm sure the reserve price is exactly what the BIN price is...
