2002 to 2003 navi retrofit questions

i was thinking about putting the larger screen version out of a 2003 into my 2002 s430. I already found the command unit pretty cheap but i cant find the wood trim and not really sure about what else i would need as far as wiring goes. Does anyone have any details on this install or any pics. Or any links to where i could get the wood trim or wiring that would be needed. How complex is this install? any help would be greatly appreciated.

See Post #17 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...+screen+COMAND and post #12 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...ml#post2511636.

See also http://www.mercupgrades.com/, an extraordinarily informative site on COMAND swap-outs. Be prepared to do some research and reading.

not sure, I wish someone who has actually done the retrofit, could post some pics on the install and list everything needed. Also, would euro version which seems to be nicer be compatible besides the different frequencies for AM??

A Euro version can be installed; contact Steve@MBENZNL.com. Steve Krabbenborg makes trips to the U.S. periodically for mods, and installing the Euro version COMAND is one of the most frequent. Wanda (Big Sis) is his sister, and often answers the mail - very knowledgeably, I might add.
