Chipped S-Classes?

I'm wondering if anyone ever got their S-class chipped to incease it by 30 +hp(S500) or more for the S600's.

Im trying to get this, but I want to talk about other members results with this.

Getting it chipped can be pretty expensive. I met a guy who does newer cars, had the new m3 as soon as it was out in the UK, and his work costs anywhere from 2-6k depending on what car you have.

Chip S600

Hi, I recently had a chip added to my S600 from SpeedTuning...Oliver is very helpful and knowledgeable. He did my Volvo S80 T6 about 7 years ago, so I knew he was solid...price is reasonable and good gains.

this is what i have done... I had powerchip installed and it did not work. First of all all of there software is not from the USA. Also they do not have one skilled techinican to work on YOUR vechile

What i found out from a Master Mercedes Technician about Powerchip is all that they do is raise your throttle idle so it makes your car seem likes your accelerating faster when in all reality there is nothing done to your ECU. NO HP GAIN AND NO TORQUE GAIN.

I LIVE IN BROOKLYN, NY AND I HAVE THAT SAME MASTER MERCEDES AS MY PERSONAL AND CLOSE FRIEND.

HE HAS THE STARMARK AND HIS OWN SPECIAL DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS THE HE HAS REPROGRAMMED MY ECU THE REAL WAY.

MY CAR WAS DYNOD AFTERWARDS WITH A REAL 30HP GAIN TOP SPEED LIMITER REMOVED FOR ONLY $700 FOR ANY MERCEDES.

RENNTECH ECU IS THE SAME EXACT CRAPT PROCESS AS POWERCHIP

Might need to check the facts on that one.

Amaseller,
Renntech and several other ECU/TCU tunes have been proven to work, I don't think there's an issue there. (Just check dragtimes.com for the fastest 600/65's!)

I'd agree with you that its not worth doing unless you have a turbocharged engine; chiptuning a naturally aspirated engine won't increase your gains much.

Do you have a 500 or a 600? Your initial post seemed to indicate either one...?

That sounds stupid... I know a few people who are had their ECU tuned by PowerChip and the gains are "non-fictional"...

S430

You may get the +25 HP on a 430...but that is at the top end. Don't think you are likely to feel the gains much as the torque increase will be around +15.

From what I remember the powerchip does remove the 155 MPH speed limiter...if that is of interest.

Around where I live traffic is much too bad to get much over 110-YMMV.
