2002 S430 Facelift and other mods

Sorry, I posted this on the picture thread too...

All work was done (on both cars) by Harbor Motor Sports in Santa Ana, California. I highly recommend them. Great people, great service, great work.

I'm on a limited budget but wanted to give the car a nice, newer, classy look. This is the best I could do with the budget I have.

Here is what I had done over the weekend to my 2002 S430:

Updated to DEPO headlights ('03 + new style)
HID 6000K
Updated LED mirror lights
Lowering links
Painted Grill black
Painted hood grill black
Body color matched front side markers
Blacked out back emblems (I didn't debadge, I want to represent the S430 and keep it real )

Still need:
New rear lights ('03 and above version)
Tint the red part of the newer style tail lights
Upgrade the projector lens
CD changer!

Before:
On lift with all older lights

Removed headlights

Installing HID in new projector headlights

Installing new headlights

Old side mirror lights:

Removed side mirror lights (thanks fern)

New Side Mirror lights

Dropped

Slammed

Final Product:
Painted front grill, hood grill, and body color matched side bumper markers, blacked out back emblems, lifted the car up a tad

HID (kind of blurry):

I also put in new HOEN license plate bulbs see the difference?

I have a 01' S600. I want to upgrade the headlights. Can I use the headlights that you got and if so, do I have to modify anything(splice wires, etc..) or is it plug and play? Also do I get different bulbs for the new headlights as well? Another questions, do the headlights that you got still move up when you turn them on? Last question, sorry, where can I get the headlights that you put on your car? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..Paul..By the way, your car looks GREAT!!!

I wish......

Your car looks great. I will likely be doing the headlight and mirror updates in the near future. I personally like the looks of the 01-02 taillights much better than the updated (03 up) ones. The older ones even look more similar to the newest s-series vehicles' lights.
When you paint the sidemarkers like that, do they still emit light?

Paul, I believe they will fit. I have an S430 so mine didn't come with HID Xenon or autoleveling. BUT, the headlights I purchased came with the auto-adjustment motor. For my case in particular, there is an extra plug that hung off the back of the projector that I assume plugs in to whatever feeds the autoleveling. I purchased my headlights off EBAY and it was plug and play (I just upgraded to HID). No need to splice wires. The bulbs are H7 I believe. I specifically looked for the DEPO brand because this is what I used on my other car and highly recommended on this forum. The DEPO headlights give off a horrible light pattern for HID, however, most people do a retrofit with other OEM projector lens (which I plan to do in the future). They were about $450.00 shipped (but took about 3 weeks to receive). I purchased from a company called Option Racing on Ebay. The lights are not a perfect fit (very minor gap) but they work.

No, the side markers don't emit light now that they are painted.
