PRICE------
Heres a question:
I was looking at a '03 S-600 V-12, all black mint condition, 31,000 on the clock, owned by a 60 year old man.....we started to talk shop, and then he offers to sell me his car for 20-25k !
I was wondering if that would be a good price for that car, and what do they go for?

thats a steal!
I would love to own the S600,buying them is the least expensive aspect of ownership when they are previously owned.maintaining them out of warranty would make donald trump cry.check for meticulous service records, have the dealer run the vin and disclose any documented complaints/repairs.set aside $10,000 and maintain that amount for repairs as long as you own it.it is an exotic luxury car,not a pillar of reliability.

Why do these people sign on here and try to impress people by making such statements??
Dear newbies,
IF you can't define your character by any other means than the car you drive, you should be on a skank forum looking for fans instead of trying to turn this forum into one because no one is impressed.
There is a difference in being AbLe to afford to maintain a money pit and WILLING to. But these newbies are so caught up on the hype having their ego's stroke by society because of the car they drive that they have no sense of financial realism... And have the nerve to disrespect other members who don't agree with their "new money mentality". Shame on this guy..
20-25K is a good deal IF you are willing to pay for the upkeep of a 600 because they can be a complete money pit!! I would venture to say that most W220's around that year can be IF you do not tackle problems when they arise. This can be said of just about any car.
But a 25K car is what it is... I have only spent around $1000-$1200 on my 430 in the last 2 years of my own money not including brakes, rotors, and servicing. I think I am in pretty good shape, but we all know the early 600's is a different story.

Im currently in the process of selling my W210, and I have a W220 lined up , S-430, so i cant wait to get it already.
The S-600, was something that kind of fell on my lap....so i started to think...PROFIT!!!! once the guy told me the price. And from hearing from you guys, once I check the records, and have a MB mechanic look at it, I think ill get it, just to sell it.
Thanx[/I]

I've run into the same problem. I got my car for a freakin' steal and thought I'd make some nice $$ on it since it Blue Books at almost like half of what I paid....Nice slap from truth to see selling it isn't so easy....Then again mine has 150K Miles on it, I've experienced enough S Classes to be damn sure it's amongst the cleanest and most solid I've ever been in, not to mention alot of really hard to find options....But with that Mileage, Gas Prices, etc. etc. No one will see past that.
It is however a good time to offer $20K for Nice mid-Mileage S Classes though.
