straight pipes!
I have never, and will never, understand why someone buys a luxury sedan with not much power (275bhp is not much for a 4300lb sedan), that is DESIGNED to be almost silent, and then gets muffler deletes, straight pipes, deletes the resonator, etc.
The appeal of a loud, slow, luxury sedan to me is absolutely less than zero.

I thought the same thing when my friend from Indiana gave me a set of ear plugs as he took me outside to show me how he had straight piped his diesel super duty... I just looked at him and said.. 'Why?".. But then I noticed a look of self satisfaction on his face that was so sincere, there was no need for me to wonder or question his motives...He was thrilled sick. How can you argue with that?

At the test track, the new Accord hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91.8 mph
in 99's 302 hp/339 TQ is alot and Im confident my S500 will rape the accord on 60-100
What Im saying is 300/340 TQ HP is good for me and I kno my car is fast, but its a slug compared to other super cars.

I know the pleasure a loud exhaust does give I must admit, I did straight Pipes on my Mustang around the same time as my friend did his S500, made driving alot more fun for a while.

But if every post said, "well, im glad you like it", this forum would be an awful boring place.

302bhp is a lot...so is 4300lbs
its a quick car, but the power to weight ratio is not nearly high enough to make it "fast", although I do have high standards in this regard.

These were just a few of Oliverk's posts within the last couple of days/weeks (notincluding comments on this thread)...now maybe im crazy (
) but im sensing a just a tad bit of "hating" going around. I do not want it to seem as if I am comming at you....I just thought it was a bit weird to see such a repetative occurrence...We can do whatever we want with our cars...yeah oppinions should be given...but wait...if they are asked...however, I do value your opinion...but not much...I don't get why your so hard on some of the mb owners here! im also not saying my responses are perfect...hell I probably don't even help out too many people on here...but what I do is give props when necessary and when I see something I dont like...then i tell them im not really feeling it, but to each his own and that i can appreciate being creative or experimenting.ohhh....thanks for being a good sport

As for hating, Im not sure why you would think that. Im giving my opinion, which is based upon the aforementioned statement. I guess you could say that I hate the ricey, cheesy, and trashy modifications people do to staid, mercedes sedans, but at least im consistent in that.

(out of topic i know) haha ....by the way im from MSD... Paterson NJMy car is dead nuts stock. No aftermarket bodykit will improve on the looks of the stock AMG sport package. I have no desire to add huge rimz to look like some "baller". The 18s are fine just the way they are.
I don't modify luxury cars with appearance, performance, or exhaust modifications. I tend to find them tasteless.
I have an extremely powerful sports cars for the times I want a loud exhaust and serious performance. I don't delude myself into thinking that a 4300lb top heavy sedan is a performance car. It is not, and never will be.
Cheers!
