I restored the car to stock height and put a set of winter wheels on with winter tires. What else should I do? This is my daily driver so no matter what it will be driven everyday regardless the amount of snow on the road.

I usually wash off the salt as soon as I can but that's just the outside body not underneath. Hmm...

You would be better off spending a few bucks for a "transportation" car as long as it is in decent condition. Trust me, I bought one and it is the best thing I ever did. Now when I jump in that S-Class the appreciation factor increases about 800%.

Second that...if you could, just get an older 4Matic. Or if you want to get funky, an old beater...I mean real old. HAHA. I myself have a 2001 W210 4Matic. I have to take off the rims soon and put on the winter wheels.

oh no way guys lol I bought this car for a reason for the winter Safety, Comfort and all wheel drive. Also I have no room for another (3rd) car

I was thinking along the lines of getting my car 'rust proofed' but not sure what exactly they do, some sort of underbody spray?

Do you have a "Ziebart" undercoating franchise in your area?
They are well known up here.

Trust me those rust proofing places stink! They ruin cars!!! They Spray that crap in every crevice and block the cars designed drain holes to get rid of condensation! I have had a dealership for over 10 years now and its about as much as a bull sh*t gimmick as fabric guard or paint sealant! Its another way to screw your money out of you. Benz Addict was right, Wash it off asap with a pressure washer, Wheel wells, door moldings and on 220's make sure to pressure wash by the windows to get water to run through the door drains. For extra measure, knowing 220's Wurth makes a product called Rost Frei which seams to me like a WD-40 Spray material I usually Spray up into the door weep hole drains every oil change for good measure. Good Luck!

I agree with IMCC that ziebart is a bunch of crap. I fell for that a couple of times and the car still got rust around the fender wells. Thank goodness we don't have that problem down here in the sunny south. Matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I saw a car with any kind of rust on it.

I was thinking of buying a $500 beater for the Winter and leaving the W220 in the garage with a cover all winter... thoughts?

If I had an S600 like as beautiful as yours then I would consider doing that but like I said I bought this 4Matic for a reason: all year round use no matter what
