Will 22's fit???
Hey guys... sometimes I wish I bought 22's instead of my current 20's. I recently lowered my car (not slammed) and am wondering if 22's will fit withou any issues.
Anyone have any experiences? Pictures?

seriously 22''s look good on a 7 series bmw or dodge charger...or a S550 or something bigger...20's is plenty for a w220 s500...you will be trying too hard with 22's

I think it looks great when there is more rim filling up the wheel well. I drive less than a mile to work and home so I dont necessarily look for the luxurious comfort... People keep asking me, are those 18s or 19s? I have to explain that they are 20s.. if they were 22s no one would even ask what size are those, it would sit nicely in the wheel well. Again, its just a thought and I bought the 20s because it was more realistic.

22's will easily fit on an S-class or CL. Very, very common in SoFla. You do have issues with tire load ratings if you use the wrong size.... 21's are a much better solution if you want the best fitment with no tire issues. Nearly every major MBZ German Tuner offers 21's for an S-class as they ARE TUV approved for the car. That is they exceed load rating and speed rating requirements for the vehicle.

two things.
1. thats a 216, which is more bulbous, meaning a larger wheel looks better, but;
2. that still looks ridiculous.
If you think a 20 inch wheel doesn't fill the wheel well of a 220, I don't know what to say.
22 inch wheels were considered BIG for FULL SIZE SUVS 4 years ago.

There's a black W220 in Tampa with 22's it looked crazy. The rim itself is just too big for the car. Ride quality is in the toilet whether its 1 mile on 100. Turning ratio is "scrubbing" Don't do it. People who ask if they're 19's are crazy or your tires are too large. I have 20" Zenneti's and saw the 19" version qwith tires. What a huge difference. Stick with 20's all day.

I saw a few w220's at the car show in Atlanta..
THey look pretty good for show, I don't think would drive with them they are just not "daily driver" wheels IMO.. Butler tire has some pretty good solutions and some hefty pricing to go with it, but they look really nice.
I spoke ot one of the reps about running 22's on my car. I was actually impressed by his knowledge and options. They had a few celebs cars at the show.

Smart move, I pulled next to w220 with 22's in my Chevy Tahoe and the benz was literally the same height from the windows, pulled away and looked in the mirror at it and the thing was high. Talk about FUGLY.
Cheers

Butler Tire does some nice cars. You can run 22's on it, but why? I personally would go 20's and drop, or if you had the money, 21's at most and drop.

I have both 20's and 22's for My S500 4Matic
Be original and do you! I've been riding with my rims ever since I brought my car 5 years ago and haven't had a problem with either set; no rub with either set. Black 20's and chrome 22's. I rotate them every couple months to keep the haters hating! No opinions needed got a decade worth of compliments on both sets but more compliments for the 22's with Chrome OEM Benz center caps wrapped in Pirelli PZero Nero's 245/30/22. Lowered the front to match rear spacing with adjustable links from www.adjustableairride.com and the 22's still don't rub. No pictures with adjustable links but had them on for about 1 year with no problems; S class rides smooth regardless just watch out for pot holes! Factory rims on for the winter!

Not too likely that the W220 owners in this forum can answer the question - your odds would be better in the correct forum.
