20" Inch Rim 11*Width

Just picked up a set of Kahn RS-V wheels that were originally on an SL55. 2x 9" and 2x 11" width, both 20" size.

Got them cheap however just seen the size of the rear rims and thought there is no way they are gonna fit on the s class.

Had a quick test fit but first signs show the rim rubbing on the suspension straight away.

What is the max width that can be fitted to a W220? Ive been reading now and im assuming its about 10" rear width?

Is there anyway to get the 11" to fit, otherwise im gonna have to get rid and try pick up a pair of 9" widths.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah 11's are way too big for the W220 stick with 10" for the rear. You can get 11's on there someone had it on here i think but they stuck out like a thumb. good luck selling and finding more rims.

illmethod is right but imagine how wide the back will stick out. Also if I'm right the offset is different on the SL. Don't quote me but I think so. Here's how it looks refer to post #23

Tell you what . I switch my 20" rims from my 04 SL500 to the 03 S500 just to see what it would look like. man it was rubbing all over , can't turn hard , rubs over any type of bumps!!!! it also stuck out screamingly crazy !! even my stock 18" SL wheels on (285/35/18)wheels rubs badly .

WHEELS ARE

20X8.5 FRONTS TIRES 245/35/20
20X10 REARS TIRES 285/30/20

you'd be crazy to stick 11" wide on the S class

Be prepared to send some money. I have a 20X11 inch rear but it will not fit without some work. If your like me, I like doing things people say cannot be done. Bottom line, I had the back side of the rims machined so it would fit around the rear cailper and the fenders pulled. I am running a 285/30/20 with no rub and I can put 5 people in the car on comfort mode. If I left the car as is with no modifications there is no way it would fit.

Thanks for the links ppl.

Seems like its a hell of a lot of work to get the 11's to fit, and the last thing I want is to have the wheels sticking out the side of the car, not looking flush.

I dont wanna end up spoiling the look of the car.

The wheels are Kahn RS-V's. They only make them in 9" and 11" widths, so im gonna have to get rid of the 11's and pick up another pair of 9".

Then run maybe 275/35 on the back and 255 on the front?

Ive attached a pic of the wheels, a very good make in the UK and nice and clean lines. They fit these wheels to Aston Martins and Bentley's all day.

What you think?

*Sorry I noticed the second pic has been removed, my fault it included an advert/price so im assuming thats why it was removed.

My Car is black, S320 CDI. Picked it up off the bay about 2 weeks ago.

Thats the original sellers pic. Not had chance to take some pics myself yet.

My plan is to get the 20" rims, black the windows, and maybe update the lights on the front. Keep it flush and not to heavily modified.

I used to own a W140. I have to say the W220 looks alot more reliable. All the electrics actully work!

However, I prefer the ride and overall size of the W140, although the looks are more outdated now and not as clean as the W220.

Hi Guys, will I have trouble fitting this rim on a 2002 S500:

20x8.5 +35 5x112

Will I rub with these rims? I have stock suspension with the 16 inch rim and tire right now. Is 16 inch to 20 inch OK for my car? Thank you.
