Hey guys help me out I think my PSE pump is dead

I'm not home, on a trip right now and it was the first time I left my car 'ungaraged' outside in -4 ºF temperature.
This morning I came out to find out the PSE pump is not working at all. Trunk doesn't pop, doors don't close, lumbar doesn't work, doors don't lock. It's driving fine and all just the PSE pump is dead?

Question is should I replace the PSE pump right away or should I wait it out maybe it'll work again??
ALSO how much can I expect to pay for a new one from the dealership?

I had the same problem a few years ago and had the pump replaced w/in a few days. I doubt that it will spontaneously resurrect, but you should check the relay first. My dealer just changed the pump, but I have since heard that the problem is often w/ a relay that sticks and causes the pump to run, and sometimes die. But it could be just the relay and the pump may still be good.

But in any event, my SA told me I didn't have to replace the pump if I didn't mind the missing pneumatics. He said all is okay w/out it. So I wouldn't worry about driving w/ it like that. At least you can wait till you get home, if you don't mind the way things are.

kind of confused sorry but just to make sure you are talking about the relay for the PSE not the airmatic pump right?

im sure you know this, but airmatic=suspension, PSE= door soft close, lumbar, etc.

fwiw, the pumps are inexpensive on parts.com and replacement is not difficult.

i'd do it yourself when you get a free moment.

benz_addict, having disconnected the battery, you may need some of the information at post #14, http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...st2216730.html

wait, so you replaced a 20 amp fuse with a 15 amp fuse and now it doesn't blow?

that doesn't make sense.

That said, I think you might have some deeper issues that you may want to dive into.

well as im sure you know, the lower the amperage, the easier the fuse will blow.

strange.

Just don't go the other way with the fuse (i.e 25, 40etc)
