CAR GOT ROBBED!
No, just open the doors and you'll see the bolt on one end of the door. Depending on the year of your car it will either be a Torx T20 or 8mm bolt. You can see where it goes from looking at your doors now and seeing the round hole(where the bolt was supposed to go through.
Sorry to hear about your situation. That is sad to see such a nice vehicle stripped like that. I suspect that you are dealing with individuals who are quite skilled with the hands and tools. Situation awareness is the key, and I trust that a clue or clues will surface as per who is responsible.
Big "H"
did you call the cops? have the car dusted?
Again,, you got some dirt on your shoulder..

That's scary. Without sounding dumb how did you figure they'd been inside the car?It does seem weird though, if they were inside the car and nicked some pretty worthless (by all accounts) moulding!

I am going by what moparrbust said in his post... He said that the only way to slide out the door moldings is by taking out a screw at the end of each door.
As soon as I read that I went to my car and checked, I saw exactly what he was talking about. If you open your door on the rear facing side you'll see a screw, on all 4 doors. So, to take the molding out you need to remove the screw or pry the molding away from the door and break the plastic on the molding where the screw is - which is makes no sense because why steal it if you can't use it?
Well, there are NO SCREWS anywhere inside the car. I looked with the interior lights, I got a flash light, got a magnet and I found now screws.
As I said earlier, I was away on business in a rental car. As soon as I pulled up and saw my car I jumped out and went to open the door - it was locked. I checked to see if I had all 4 rims and I did. I looked inside the car the red light on the lock button was blinking as it always does.
I went in my house and grabbed the key, opened the car expecting to see my dashboard ripped to pieces and the COMAND ripped out but to my surprise everything was intact.
The only fishy thing that I spotted was that my center console was open on both sides, but I might have left it like that when I was getting my sun glasses before leaving.
I called the police, they came 45 minutes later, nasty attitude, walked around the car, wrote up a report. Told me that I should not be surprise that he can't really help me beyond that. I filed a claim with insurance.
In rage I pretty much threw most of the contractors tools/wood/beams/boxes across the garage and promptly moved my car in the garage where it's been ever since.
They knew you were not home.
They knew your car was not in the garage.
The contractors have access to the house.
They were able to get inside the car.
Noone heard the alarm.
The keys were in the house.
INSIDE JOB.
