I've always kept my cars in the garage, my old S500 might have been parked outside overnight at most 10 times in 3 years. My S600 is also always in the garage. The last week I was forced to keep the car in my driveway because the contractor that's working in my kitchen has his tools and all the materials all over the garage. I was away the past few days and got myself a rental car and left my car in the driveway for two nights...
I come home on Wednesday to find this...

They took the door and fender moldings from both sides, front and rear tow-hook plugs, all 4 plugs for the jack points. They also stole the metal mesh grills from the front bumper.
I'm not sure who or why... but I know I have a pretty long driveway and the car was parked right by the house, so someone had some ***** walking all the way up to my house to do this. They obviously came prepared with tools.

From the 2nd photo it looks like they tried to pry the door open?
Also could it be the contractor might have something to do with it or know someoone who might of needed those parts?
Damn that really sucks I will keep an eye on ebay and craigslist to see if they pop up.

HOw strange...looks like the work of a Crackhead! those parts combined aren't all that expensive certainly not worth the risk of getting shot of doing time over..
The CSI in me tells me that whomever did it knew.
1. you were gone and for how long,
2. that there would be minimal risk going up your driveway
3. that they had absolutely NO use for those parts at all
this was a hate/envy crime.. someone you know is stirring your soup..
check your folks and do the math...

what the ****?
I have seen your car in person and it is absolutely MINT. I cannot believe this **** happened
to you. The thieves look like real amateurs too. That side molding is worth nothing, neither is the front grille. Just a bunch of kids out looking for trouble.
Im so sorry to see this, hope you catch them and teach them a lesson.

Maybe they even read these forums!
Nope, NOTHING. Not even the salt residue on the sides was smudged with fingers. There is no scratches or anything that would look like the pieces were pried from the car with a screw driver or anything like that... I think they used plastic wedges and knew what they were doing.

Damn, they had to be pros then because all 4 of the door side mouldings are held in at one edge by a single T20 torx bolt(from the inside of the door) which would have to be broken off from the outside to be able to slide off the mouldings. Everything else just pops off with ease.
