Would you recommend Falken tires on 18 inch AMG wheels?
I need to change 2 rear tires (S430, 2000) and I don't wanna spend $300.00 for the Potenza 265/40 R18. I have an AMG wheels...Would you recommend Falken tires on 18 inch AMG wheels? or something else without spending too much money....
Thanks

I know 1 thing , you can go 275/40/18 , an very common size witch should cost less than the 265/40/18 . I did on my 03 S50O it even looks wider . As far as Falken tires i know noting about them as i only run MICHELIN tires on my Mercedes .

I have Bridgestone Potenzas RE960AS. In the rear they are 275/40/18 and the fronts are 245/45/18. I have AMG staggered wheels. The back tires are really wide and definitely grip the road. I tried several different brands....Michelin, Yoko's, etc. but have never used Falkens.

Falkens are fine. I have been using them for 3 years on my 2000 S500 with the 245/18's on S600 wheels.
They last alot longer than the other brands, and you don't lose performance. Also, they are not noisy.

I am running the Falken FK452s ( 245/18 front and 275/18 rear) . They are great handling summer tires. Very sticky and do well in the rain... not so good in icy weather. Very quiet too. The only concern I have is their very short life span ( on my car anyway). The rears are ready to replace after 10K miles. The fronts may make it to 15K. I'm going to get another set of rears soon... and for the price still think the Falkens are a bargain (cost vs lifetime).

Falkens last longer, offer as good or better performance, and are as quiet or quieter than other brands, yet are substantially less expensive?
Why doesn't everyone run falkens then?
your statement is incorrect. You do lose performance, although unless you really push your boat around turns, you probably won't notice the difference much.

I didn't even replace the Falkens on my VW Passat. I loved my Pirelli's and my PS2's however. The tires are the most important things you can buy for your car. It is definitely worth it to splurge on them.
