steering really hard to turn even with new pump
hey guys I replaced my power steering pump here's the follow up thread:

Now the problem is that it's really hard to turn as if the car was off (almost it still turns though). No grinding or moaning sounds though and power steering fluid level looks fine? Help? I've driven 1100kms on the new pump already...

The Rack is a little hard to get to, but the entire pressurization system only consists of the pump and components, Supply line, reture line, and the rack assy. IF it feels exactly the way it doe when the car is off, either you are not getting supply pressure to the rack, or the rack has failed.
There may be a quick way for one of the dealer techs to verify the rack, I'm not too sure how to do that without trying a new one, but if you are sure you have pressure to the rack which is an easy test, then you will know where the problem lies.

did u replace the pump with a used one or new? becuase waht is sounds like is a bad pump because it sounds like there isnt pressure for the rack. the symptoms you are describing is the reason i replaced mine becuase once a pump goes bad they dont make any or enough pressure for the steering to function normally.

hey skylaw i started a new forum if u check under the name tariq kabir. i see that u the best out here and i really look upto u. please can u take a look and educate me or give me pointers about my harsh airmatic ride and tough steering when coming to a stop. my rears do sag but gets up the minute i press the unlock button without any airmatic too low sign. please look at my new thread i started. thank you so much
