Hood Spring Retention Part
Another engineering faux pas by MB is going to cost me $200 if I don't find an alternative. The little plastic part that holds the hood spring in place broke (of course, its plastic) so in order to replace it with the updated version you have to buy the whole latch mechanism for $200.
It irritates me to no end that they make a poorly designed part and rape the customer for the replacement. Has anyon figured out a alternate way to retain he hood spring?
On another note, the switch that controls the 4 way air baldders in the seat costs $198! Not the electrical part, just the plastic toggle piece! Jeesh!

Clearly it was a mistake. Live and learn I guess. I always say the best lessons learned are the ones that cost money. I'll never buy another one for sure! My gripe is not so much the poor engineering, premature rust and greedy dealers, its the price of replacement parts that were made poorly to begin with.
