Upgraded Xenon Headlamps. Help please!

Guys,

First of, Sam I'am. Recently purchased a 2000 S500 and I realllly want to upgrade these old crappy looking xenon covers. Where can I get direct replacement headlight assemblies? I have browsed on ebay but didnt find the ones that fit existing xenon set-up.
Any help will be appreciated. just dont want to spend the big bucks on OEM S55/500 2003 and up headlights..(over 1000 bucks or so).

THANKS

there used to be a guy on ebay that sold "quality" update headlights with xenon (for xenon cars) with the auto leveling feature as well. He said he's sold out of the headlights. Anyone else know of a plug n play headlight set that will fit cars with xenons? I am also looking to update the headlights

I found these:

http://www.mercedesbenzwheel.com/mer...ights-104.html

They also sell a "projector headlight" for about half the price, but hey are no HID. Not sure if you can ugrade the "cheap" ones with the existing HID projector or not. I asked, but haven't heard back yet.

Check salvage yard, get the 03+ headlight(doesn't matter HID or not), get the HID kit from ebay with warning canceller. I have 03 S430 with Halogen projector headlights. I bought a HID 6000K kid with warning canceller and they work great!

That brings up an interesting question. Does anyone know of a salvage yard that specializes in Mercs? My buddy who has an A8 found an Audi yard in- believe it or not- Alabama, and has been buying cheep reliable parts for his ride for the last 3 years. It'd be nice to have one of those in my Rolodex..

This where I got mine from. There is no cheap way around it. I did the ebay, (($250-$500) and I have 2 sets sitting in my living room. They will not work with factory HID, and if you "rewire" you will get errors. Quality is bad you will get the fogged lense look. You get what you pay for.

I called and talked him down from $1300 to $1100, with overnight shipping, free. Never had a problem and changed the bulbs out to 8000K. These lights even had the auto level feature. Straight plug and play and I put them in myself 10min each side.

How much would u sell the ones sitting in ur living room for? I was looking to see if I can experiment on a set, but dont want to pay $300+ and end up messing them up. My plans are to take out the ballast from my OEM and put it on the aftermarket, than get a adapter for the bulb socket.

Try http://mbpartsonline.com/ - Potomac German Auto, one of the largest MB breaker yards in the country. They have operations near Washington, DC and St. Augustine, FL. If you can't find what you need in their online catalog, give them a call. Doing that saved me $450 recently when I needed to replace the plastic dust cover in the shift quadrant - the one that follows the shift lever.
