depends where u live. i usually keep it on A. since i doo a decent ammount of highway driving.
L l modes disable certain bands completely. I like to know of every single possible threat so i dont use them.

if u want the most alerts and best protection A is the best.

you can find out in your area which radar bands are used and then turn them off individually on the v1.

p.s. BE SURE YOU MOUNT IT IN THE CORRECT SPOT TO GET PROPER PROTECTION.

Somehow, it is working by picking up signals. Let me tell ya, V1 is dead on! I used to have Escort Solo S2 and there is no comparison! Especially love the concealed display.

I drive in L mode.... A gives me to many false alarms, esp when driving through lombard (too many stores on roosevelt rd trigger the device).

I have mine installed on the bottom of the windshield where my cut out is.

Hey, that's where I live! I work at Broadview and commute from Lombard using Roosevelt all the way. Seriously, I was not able to view the cut outs on the bottom of the windshield. So I installed where the black dots are by rear view mirror.

If you ever see a S600 pulled over on Roosevelt in Oakbrook terrace you know its me. I can't even drive through there at night, as they pull me over just to harass me... must be the tints.

Actually it is the perfect spot. The owner's manual of my 2005 shows there are cutouts in the film to either side of the mirror in the black dots. I have been using my V1 there for over a year and it works perfectly. The higher you mount it, the better the reception.

As a bonus, you can't see it from outside the car.
