Good Deal? Trade?
What's everyone think. Should I push lower or just keep the 05, which I love?
Unless they are giving you the deal of the century on the 08, something is very fishy about them offering your $47k for your 05.
If they are willing to give up the 08 for $25k off the msrp then the deal makes more sense.
Its a personal decision, is the 08 worth an additional $40-$55k more to you then your well sorted 2005?
I would say no, but I'm not you.

Update- told them no on the $55K and they're come back was What figure makes it work for me? Could get interesting.
Your car is a duplicate of mine. Very nice.

This deal is 100% correct and truthful. In fact, the dealer is calling me as I type this. Want his name?

And since you only had it 4 months, how did you get it inherit it? to be able to sell it after 4 months and not take a bath?
a 2008 New body style S is selling in the 60's all over the country except for out of touch with reality dealers so this doesn't add up either...
but I'm just stating the obvious.. good luck on your "deal".
Here's some food for thought..

And ur car basic trade value with 50K on the clock
http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...ypePath=Retail
good luck.
My guess is that they only have about 60K in the 2008, so in order to make it work they have to do this..
84k for the S ( 24K plus for them because they own it for 60 ) and it looks like 25K of sticker ( which is ridiculouls because the car actually has a 75K retail value.)
30K for your car ( realisitcally 10 on trade but you just gave them 24 more on the 2008 so they are even at this point ^ )
that leaves you with the 2008 for 54K.. and here's what we all take home.
YOu get to take home a 2008 for 54K .... ( not too shabby right? )
The dealer gets his 54K for the 2008, they show a 6K loss on the trade, but wait....
you car is still worth 30K blue book. to they repackage it and sell it for 25K on a deal so they walk away with
yes at least 79K on the deal 54K for the 2008, + the 25K they made from your trade minus the 6k loss
which puts them 19K ahead at the end of the transaction ...
so go ahead haggle with them for few thousand.. they still win.
Car selling is a business... if it worked in your favor, there would be no dealers remember that.
