Transmission work done.. What you guys think
A Week ago I noticed little transmission oil leak around electrical plug area. Thought it would be easy and inexpensive fix but things turned out differently because of over tightened screw in the middle of connector plug, solution new electro module ( conductor plate ) and new connector.
Went to eurobahns auto repair (Indy) they charged me $525.00 including parts and labor for the following
1) Electrical connector plug replaced
2) Electromodule ( conductor plate) module replaced
3) Fresh MB transmission oil and filter change
After all the work transmission shifts smoother and no hesitation. I never got the idea why does MB say that transmission is closed system and no oil change or service needed. I am glad that I am good for another 40k or 50k.

i change my transmission fluid on anycar sooner then what the dealer or make of the car say.. even thou they say do it at certain miles ...
ex:
180sx every other drift event ..
avalanche every 20k miles
s-class well i havent gotten around to do it yet ..
it just sux when your tranny takes a crap and your stranded..

Just had my 2000 S430(53,400 miles) transmission serviced at Prestige Auto, local independent in Salem, OR. Cost breakdown for replace filter, fluid, pan gasket & update wiring plug:
Labor 1.9 hr @ $78 = $148.20
Parts: Filter $35.00, 4 qts Kendall Versa Trans @ $6.25 = $25.00, Trans plug adapter $8.00
Total = $216.20 (This means they didn't change all the fluid, only drained the pan etc. just like the dealership)

the 722.6 trans fluid should be flushed!
IMO every 50k miles,it is cheap maintanance.i think it cost me $180 for the fluid and parts inc the dipstick.check ou the thread by AH1W-COBRA.722.6 trans flush and filter pics.
