'03 S600 Sport pic
Just picked this up friday (my first MB, actually) and saw the other thread about how the sport package appears. Here's a single pic; I'll grab some better ones once it stops raining out here ![Mad](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)

My first post, and I've already gotten the FAQ question
Here's a repost from ls1.com:
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I run software development organizations
Q: Can I join your family?
A: Sorry, my son vetoed that idea; he doesn't want competition for the cars...
Q: Why does your wife put up with your crazy car purchases?
A: Because she loves me, and anyway she's not exactly deprived.

Other cars? We have a slow viper (my wife's)
and a fast viper (mine) - note front-mount intercooler![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![](http://www.treynor.com/RT_Skyline_Sml.jpg)
Options on the S600 are minimal -- it comes with pretty much everything on the S600. I got the sport package (wheels, bodywork), tire pressure monitoring & keyless go; I passed on the $3000 cruise control and the $10,000 "designo" packages. It's a lease (my first ever -- interest rates are too low to pass up), and you can go calculate the sticker yourself if you want :p

> what kinda numbers does your viper put out? do you have 1/4 stats on it?
Oh, it's pretty slow
835 RWHP (SAE) on boost alone, 996 RWHP with a little shot of N2O. Best 1/4 run was 10.11 @ 152 mph.

HOLY!!! 835 on just boost?! almost 1000HP?!?! damnnn!!! its a monster!
how driveable is it? vipers have a reputation for being kind of hard to drive dont they? so how manageable is your beast?

Here I am on the Mercedes board with a twin-turbo S600, and what does everyone want to hear about? The dodges
Very well...
My yellow Viper was modified by Doug Levin Motorsports, and has (among other things) a fully built engine, centrifugal supercharger, front-mount intercooler, secondary fuel system from a race gas fuel cell, and a custom NX nitrous setup. In cool weather it runs about 15 lbs of boost and makes 900 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels... without nitrous.
Here's a few pictures; videos are below the pix:

The engine:
The dyno sheet (on nitrous, tires spinning beginning @ 4900 RPM)

The videos:
Dragstrip pass without nitrous
Giving a thrill ride on the street (no nitrous)

So what exactly do you spend on tires a month
FYI Tirerack has a special on viper tires. You need to call and check what they have in stock but if I remember the fronts are definetly in stock.

This is my first visit to the S Class forum (I'm normally in the E forum) and I see a ~460 RWHP (?) '03 Viper being called slow (rightfully so) compared to a 995 RWHP Viper.
That is one amazing stable of cars. Are you in the Torrance/PV area? I noticed you got your S600 at MB of South Bay.
Anyways, very nice.

Up north, actually, near Palo Alto. I have family in PV, however. Flew down, had dinner with the family, picked up the S600 at South Bay Benz, and drove it home. All in all, a nice trip![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
> Does anyone notice his lisence plate? SOOSLOW
It gets more grins than "1200 HP", and fewer tickets...
