2003 S-600
$1600 For Sparkplugs On My V12TT S600!
That's what the dealer told me today on a service B appointment. What all is involved in changing the plugs? I told them to hold off on that. Anyone experience this? Why is it so expensive?

They are probably charging you for spark plugs and wires, that's exactly the quote I got for both. The plugs were just $620 at the dealer with labor, but with the wires it was around $1600.

YOU HVE 4 NGK PLUGS PER CYLINDERS, MB PLUGS ARE PROBLY 25 EACH, SO THATS 1200 , YOU CAN USE NGK AT 15 @ BUT THEY DONT SAY MB ON THEM. YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE COIL PACKS OFF, THESE ARE 1200 A SIDE IF YOU SCREW THEM UP, REMOVE THE PLUGS , INSTALL THE PLUGS WO CROSS THREADING , AND PUT THE COIL PACS BACK ON. GO TO A LOCAL GOY WHO SPECIALIZES IN MB IT SHOUD BE 2/3DS THE PRICE

2 plugs per cylinder, thats 24 plugs (non TT version) . I did mine myself and it took about 4 hours so a dealer shpuld be able to do it in 2. If you are not mechanically minded then dont attempt as there are so many ways if you try a little brute force that you can cross threads or worse damage the coil pack. 24 ngk plugs cost me under $100

Considering there are only 2 plugs per cylinder, I'm a bit intrigued.

That seems like an extremely high price. I did the 16 plugs in my SL55 for less than $150 and an afternoon of my time.
