Question Tire Pressure: Please Correct....really?

This warning came up on the dash when I started the car leaving work. When I got home I looked in the owner's manual and it said it indicates one of the my tires is low. According to the MFD I'm at 36 on the front and 38/35 on the backs so certainly not low and a quick visual inspection seems to confirm nothing flat...

The TPMS gave me an issue a few months back when one of sensor's battery died. The the dash went red but this appears to be a bit different.

Any heads up would be great.

Thanks!

...and it went away today...as mysteriously as it came, it then left.

Depending on the weather conditions, if it gets cold overnight, tire pressures drop...and the system may not automatically compensate.

Maybe that's what you experienced?

I'm just shooting down the simple explanations first.

Thanks for chipping in!

It is colder here today than it was yesterday but I've had much hotter and colder days than these in the last few weeks with no signs of the TPMS freaking out. The manual suggested this warning only comes up when the tyres are low...

You cannot tell with a visual inspection if your tire is properly inflated. Even with TPMS you should have a good gauge and verify at reasonable intervals.

TPMS gave me the biggest headache until they replaced my control unit.

Since then, not one false warning.

I remember you mentioned this in my last TPMS thread. If it flares up again I'll mention that to the dealer...before the CPO runs out!

If mine has a differential pressure of +/- 3psi, it will trigger the warning. Today for example I had 36 on the left rear and 32 on the right. I stopped and brought the 32 up to 36 and the warning went off. Although is seems insignificant, it probably means something in Germany when you are blissfully driving over 120mph.
