Changed my spark plugs...
Just changed my spark plugs on my 2000 S430. Was a complete ***** took me and my brother damn near 4 hours! On the bank at the passenger side, the heads have sharp protrusions which I think is deliberate from mb b/c they don't want you to do the work yourself. Replaced all a6 plugs and wires below is a pic. I take it the old ones are 10 years old causing two to break off from the wire. I had to be ingenious to remove them but the car is now an animal once again!
I also got an optima yellow top battery b/c it was long overdue.
Later in the week we're gonna change the front sway bar!

Yep, changing the plugs on a M113 is a pain in the @ss, esp. if you don't have the right tools.
I think it took me the same amount when I changed the plugs on my ML430 some years ago.

Spark Plugs
I noticed that you went with Bosch Platinum (2) as replacements. Are they better than the OEM on MB. I have a 2005 S500, and what type of wires, OEM? I have used the Bosch on my other cars and they work fine but not on my MB. Let me know how they work.

I just did my plugs about a week ago and I agree it is a pain in the @ss. I have an 04 S430 with 82k miles and most of the plugs were fried. I didn't replace wires but they seemed okay. I don't recommend for anyone to wait until 100k for plugs in my opinion. The car seems much smoother and responsive.

2000 S430, 1999 E 320, 2 K5 blazers,
getting ready to do mine in a couple of weeks. i am bad my car has 130K and never had them replaced. Does the plugs really make a big difference? at parts.com some wires were 150 while others are 350. and the plugs vary from 3 bucks to 17. Im not racing my car so dont want to waste the money.
also any tips that could same me some time would be appericated
thanks
