ABC suspension fail, finally it's my turn! :(
So, after reading numerous threads on ABC failure, here I go now. I have an S55 2001, with 140,000 miles.
I've searched and know a bit about this problem, and will be taking the car in on Monday...but can anyone give me an idea as to what happened/price to fix?
Here it is: I was driving, and stopped at a gas station. About 1 minute after I stopped, I hear a crack, and immediately hydraulic fluid starts to gush out of the car and leak all over the place, like massive amounts of it. The red "ABC Drive carefully" light came on, the car is still the same height. It looked like it was leaking from the front somewhere.
I did not drive it at all, and immediately called a flat bed truck, and had it towed to my house. Now what exactly happened? What could that "crack" sound be? Am I in for a big repair?
I know this topic gets repeated, but I did not find the answer to this specifically so I'd appreciate so comfort/insight while I nervously await what can happen!

just the hose was recalled.
need to find the source of the leak before guessing at the problem...could be a hose, could be the pump, could be anything, all depends what broke and where its leaking.

Well, I got it figured out and fixed. Apparentely one of the hoses going to the back of the ABC suspension gave out, and that's what caused this. Everything else is fine.
Total cost to fix: $270 with labor and parts. I'm relieved!
