2000 S 500 brake help!!!!
I just bought my 2000 S 500 about a month ago and the brake warning came on the other day. I feel pretty confident I can change them myself but I've had a few people tell me I have to do rotors with pads. Is this true? The car has 150,000 mi on it and I don't know if anyone has ever changed the rotors. Please help any info is appriciated!!!

The minimum thickness is
stamped on the edge of the rotor.
if they are mirror smooth with no ripples or valleys you can get more than 1 use out of them. They can't be resurfaced.
If you need new it is only about $320 delivered for front and rears and a very easy DIY
be sure to order the 3 wear sensors and use the pad paste.

They can be resurfaced, but they are probably worn past the limit. Don't get cross-drilled and buy from Napa- about $175 for the front pair. I had alot of difficulty getting the old ones off- spray with WD40 and let sit for an hour before applying rubber mallet several times.

you don't resurface
mb rotors they are not made thick enough to service by turning. If they are not smooth and or are below minimum thickness you replace them.
You resurface them and you are begging for rotor failure

I would advise you to just replace the rotors. You will have a piece of mind that they are new and really you won't have to concern yourself with brakes for at least another 5 years.
