will 20s mess ride up?

will 20 inch rims (thinking lowenhart br5) ruin the smoothness of the ride on a s500? and will the wheels rub?
thanks

Yes, 20's will harsh out the ride. 18's are as far as I would go. They are a great tradeoff in improved handling with very little loss in ride quality.

here's a pic...

Hello...

I've got those wheels on my S500. Slight rubbing in the rear, but other wise, no problems. The ride is still very nice and not harsh at all. I recommend Pirelli P-Zero Rosso.

nice rims, i would guess 20s would decrease the quality of the ride, but they would look outstanding. depends on what you want.

Initially, I was worried that the ride would be bad, but it's actually not bad at all. Actually, my wife hardly noticed any difference in the ride quality.

But then again, if you live in a city like NYC, I would of course avoid 20's.

BTW, I might have these wheels for sale soon. I'm in the Southern California area for anyone interested. Let me know.

if the car is raised (via that button inside the car that raises it an inch) does it still rub in the back

and what exactly is rubbing?
i always thought it meant when u turned the wheel it rubbed against the inside

The rubbing is coming from the rear. I had my fenders rolled by CEC and that solved most of the problems. It still rubs when I hit a huge expansion joint on the highway, but otherwise the car rides fine. Not a big issue at all.

I should also note my car is lowered 1" all around. Again, no real difference in ride quality...only pluses in the handling department!

I got mine, the Lowenhart BR-5 with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso (255/35-20") all around for $4500.

The prices should be better now. E-mail eric@supremepowerparts.com from Supreme Power Parts...he'll give you the best prices on them.

How did you get your car lowered 1"? Was it by computer or mechanical?
Thanks

when i had my lowenharts i had 20x10's in the back 275/30/20 lowered 2" you have to shave some of the bumper or it will rub. i now have 20x8.5 davins all around lowered 2.5" 245/35/20 and no rub at all.
