trunk won't fully open

Most recently, when i press the trunk open, it will go to 45 degrees open and not the full 90 degrees. I then have to open the trunk fully by hand. It does close on it's own well and seals shut nicely after pushing the trunk close button.

Any ideas, did a quick search, but found most issues with vacuum seal closing. tia

You have reset the sensing mechanism to stop full motion of the trunk. Its a feature of the trunk system. I believe to reset for full motion, open the trunk using the trunk opening switch in the car, but continue to hold the switch in the open position for 5 or more seconds after the hood stalls. To reset to the "half open" position, hold the switch closed for 5 seconds after the trunk is closed.

Also, there is an option the settings menu in the speedo that lets you choose if you want the "electronic trunk limiter" on or off.
