brake pads and sensors
greetings from texas yall!!
anyways i think its time to replace brake pads as theyre starting to squeal (and get flush as well)
1) should i wait til "brake lining wear.. visit workshop!!" warning indicator (doesnt sound safe)
about 5 months ago, brake pad thickness are:
fronts 14mm
rear 6mm
2) should i replace both fronts and rears?? i have both sets of akebono fronts and rears but i dont have the sensors,
3) does anyone know if the local autozone/oreilly have the brake pad sensors?
thanks for your time gang, i appreciate it

Most people wait till the sensor comes on telling you it is time to replace pads(and sensors), this way you get your money's worth out of existing pads. But you can always change them earlier. The rears always go out first for some reason, I am on my 3rd W220, and it has always been the case.
I will need them soon too and planned on using Akebono ceramic pads mainly for lower brake dust. The MB OEM pads put out such large amounts, my wheels need to be cleaned every 3 days.

you can buy the sensors from the dealer i think they are around 10$ each i had to change my rotors today and the warning didn't come yet for the pads but i know in a month i have to change them so i changed them anyway !! i bought ceramic pads hoping for less brake dust
soo annoying

i bought the rotors from orielly/murrys i thought about it they sell oem stuff and i really dont use my car for speeding or racing the ones i bought look exactly oem with holes in them if you still want the brand name i could call tomorrow and get the exact name.
about the parking brake to be honest ive never ever changed one so i cant tell you but i guess if its working you don't have to change it! and im guessing usually it don't go bad unless u drive when its on! if im wrong someone correct me

I just did my fronts 2 weeks ago. Now all the way around is Zimmerman rotors, and Akebono ceramic pads. Amazing difference on the brake dust i love this. Now i just need to get my brakes flushed and ill be done.

i wanted to do the brake flush but my mechanic said its a closed system and you really dont need to change it unless you move to a diff city and sea level changes.. i know he wasnt being lazy to flush it .. but is that true?
