2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
This is a good solvent for neglected or engines that have not run for an extended period.
In the past ten years the formula has changed as it was sold to WD-40 and then to Turtle wax. It used to be mainly mineral spirits, now it is mostly napha.
Naphthenic Hydrocarbons 70-80%
Mineral Spirits 20-30%
Chlorinated Hydrocarbons 1%
I find it useful in yard machines that are seldom used. It does dissolve varnish and sludge.
It really won't do anything in your Mercedes unless your car has been neglected. I have used it as a flushing solvent by adding it to the crankcase and gas, then driving until the tank is near empty. Then use a Lubromoly flushing solvent to remove everything. If you use top tier gas and Mobil 1 0W-40 this stuff will add nothing. An ocassional bottle of Techron can prevent carbon, but if you use Chevron gas that will not help either.
I believe Techron is the only additive Mercedes says to use in specific circumstances, and I agree.

Good for yard machines. If Turtle has purchased it they will upograde it but time will tell.
BTW the local heating boiler maintenance people are using Stabile Blue (marine) for all longterm storage applications except for MB and AMG. Not S. Red!
For Mbs I AM TOLD cHEVRON tECHRON IS THE RIGHT Way to go.

My grandfather used the stuff a bazillion years ago and swore by it. Then again, he swore that drinking, smoking, and a diet exclusively of red meat would extend his life span. So I don't put too much credibility in his thinking of Mystery Oil. Besides, anything that ON THE LABEL says it's safe in either the fuel tank OR the crankcase, can't be healthy for modern day engine! Personally, I use a bottle of Techron in the fuel tank ~3K miles and change the oil/filter every 5K or so. FWIW

Well I put it into my w220 to give it a try anyways. Mpg increased by 2 on both city and highway so after all said and done on calculations of cost to gain, it pays for itself and saves a few bucks so I dont mind it.

Chevron makes Techron, MB approves it, Shell puts it in 93 octane gas, when are MB or AMG going to approve Seaglass?
Sounds like an old Phil Lesh album....

seafoam is extremely harsh towards parts and corrosive. It is good to get rid of crap build up but you would have to change your oil quickly and for your gas lines only use it if they have been treated with crap gas there whole life.
