S430 engine swap

S430 engine swap
Would the M113 E55 engine, the one in the CLK55, SLK55 etc etc work in the S430? Just before buying one myself for a special someone a friends' engine caved, he has 277,000 miles of it. His dealer gave him a price for a replacement and fitting but I thought different.
I thought why not replace it with a better engine. The old V8s aren't expensive anymore (by the way I'm NOT talking about the supercharged V8 in the E55). The point is what else would the swap take? What are the complications, the way I see it the S55 has that engine anyway or at least the supercharged version so fitment isn't an issue. Would the S430 ECU work with the new engine or......

Wouldn't it need to be tuned though? I mean would the S430 ECU just P'nP into the 5.5? I've seen some really cheap engines going around, it's crazy how much cheaper the non-supercharged M113 is compared to the one in the E55, SL55, G55 etc. I know the internals and all are different as well as the Kompressor.
Anyways I think it's better to do a 5.5 swap than a 4.3, they're not that much more, depending on the specific engine, mileage, comdition etc etc. The only thing is are there going to be any surprises? If the ECU is fine, the engine mounting is too because the S55 uses it what else is there to consider?

Found this thread, seems like alot of people have done the 4.3 to 5.4 swap in the C Class and it might not be very hard after all. I'll let my buddy know because the 4.3 price the dealer gave him is outrageous, let's see if he can't make a deal with him on installation of the 5.4 sourced without dealer help.
