Audi 80 Quattro (with a couple of modifications)
Nice. I just can't get enough of how clean and low profile the final kit install looks on the MB.
How well does the 4matic hold up to the large amount of power you are getting with your supercharger systems?

The 4MATIC system is up to the task- very stout. The latest version of the 4MATIC drive system is far better than the original system MBZ was putting on the street in the 80's and 90's.

The 430 SC system is $14,350 plus installation (usually in the $1100 range depending on which dealer you choose). Crank power figures after the SC installation are 431 hp and 443 tq at sea level. A typical standard 430 engine will put 217 (approx) hp to the rear wheels and 238 tq as measured on a DynoJet 248C, equating to an approx 20% drive train loss. Install a KLEEMANN SC and that figure jumps to 345 hp and 355 tq (approx) at the rear wheels. Take the rear wheel number and devide by .80 to reach the theoretical crank number. Most people ignore theoretical crank numbers as the differntial increase at the rear wheel can be applied as a total % increase to the engine performance.

Pretty sweet upgrade then. However, given that one would pay around $30k for an S55 over a stock S430, and with the S55 you get body work, suspension, wheels, brakes, and more horses, it's kind of a wash.
Very clean looking mod, though. I like it.

The idea with this particular customer is the 4MATIC- you cant get a 4MATIC with the 55 AMG SC engine. Here in Colorado 4 seasons usefullness of the car is paramount- you wont get very far in 6 inches of snow with a two wheel drive S55AMG, however, I see your point.
If you want to be on the top of the S class dogpile then get the 55 AMG and replace the SC with our unit- 640hp, no one could touch you then.

PS. Got one more question, do any of these upgrades void warranty?

RENNtech does get the highest horsepower figures, but the cost at which they charge you to get your car there is insane... I was going to give you a side by side compairison of how much money you spend per hp, but their web site seems to be working as well as their cars... Not very well. At the price Mercedes tuning is, quality should be no less than perfect. The link below is some good reading if you're interested.

My opinion is that both RENNtech and Kleemann are top-of-the-line tuners simply because Mercedes bought AMG (whose head founded RENNtech) and also uses Kleemann Kompressor systems on their stock cars.
About the warranty question, the RENNtech ECU upgrade does not void the warranty. Is it the same case with your ECU?
I have an S55 AMG on the way and was toying with the idea of tuning it. I need all the information I can get before choosing the "best" tuner for me.

can I assume you got your dyno numbers from a rwd only s430 ?
or do you have a four wheel capable dyno?
