HELP: ASAP Trunk will not open

Ok so long story short my battery died. I have tried to open it with the blade key but it is not working when turning it both directions and pushing the button with no luck. I called MB and they said it must be something they did wrong when they replaced it.

They are not able to look at it until Monday. I am currently dead without a car and not able to access my trunk.

My question to you guys is there a 3rd option to get into the trunk so I can replace the battery and drive it to the shop to get the trunk latch replaced again?

I have not found any threads where it says we have a fold down seat. If so please provide me detailed instructions on how to do so.

I am really displeased right now on the service I got and annoyed my recently replaced trunk latch does not work.

there are posts for charging under the passenger side rear floor mat. don't jump start the car, just hook it up to a battery so you can get the trunk open.

Under the mat is a plastic cover, there are two or three bolts that come off and the terminals are right there.. Make sure the key is off and out of the car. You can hook up one of those little jump start units and should be able to get into the trunk.. the other day I saw someone hook up one of those jump start deals to a car's cigarette lighter and it powered it, so who knows.. I was sure suprised..

yes the cigarette lighter battery chargers, while usually not strong enough to ever start the car, will often give just enough power to use the remote to unlock the trunk.

Otherwise you need to pull up the carpeting on the passenger floor to get to the terminals. Do not jump start the car , just hook it up so the car has enough juice to open the trunk.

Disconnect the battery from the cars battery cables before doing a full charge using a real battery charger. Leaving the car hooked up can, and has, fried many a w220s electronics

Hey tusabes:

How do you get power through the cigarette lighter when the key is not turned on? I mean my 02S500 doesn't turn on the lighter circuit unless the ignition is on and seeing as the EIS is electronic, don't you need power going to it first before it activates all the accessories?
