Has anyone installed these LEDs on W220?
Hi all,
After one month trying to get actual pictures for these LEDs asking to several sellers & dealers, I've got some of them from eBay.de (Tuningteile immer Günstig).
There are LEDs bumper for both, 99-02 and 03-05 S-Class, but only for non sport (AMG) front bumper.
If anyone has purchased and installed them, please let us know. I'm very interested in the ones for my 03 W220.
Anything to share? Thank you in advance. See pics below.

On eBay, and excluding shipping:
-2 sellers in Germany: 230 USD (99-02) and 330 USD (03-05).
-1 seller in UK: 160 USD for both non-sport bumpers (99-02 & 03-05).
I don't know why this difference in prices for same items.

I've just purchased one pair of these LEDs for my '03 W220 regular (non sport) bumper. I expect I'll get them installed in 2 or 3 weeks. Then, I'll share photos and comments once tested.

Try on www.ebay.de and search for "W220 TFL". I finally got them from tuningcenter-deutschland. You'll find the LED ones for 02-05 W220 (facelifted) and also for 99-02 W220.

Finally I've got them installed in my MB shop.
I expect my comments help anyone interested in DRL. I wish the manufacturer or a seller had done it before me for his potential buyers, but I'm used to buy on eBay and it's really hard to find detailed pictures or information about items you want to purchase.
The result, as an over years LED user, is a rating of 10.
I got DRLs connected and configured as Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and position lights, according to R87 and R7 regulations, respectively. All DRL LEDs light brightly all time and they dim off when headlights are on (position or low beam), working then as position lights.
You can choose another setup. Mine is DRL+position, but only DRL option is available like other specific functions.
They fit screwed (no 3M double sided tape) on the inside of each front bumper grill. It's highly recommended to remove the whole bumper for DRLs installation.
See pics below for a facelifted W220 equipped with regular (non sport) front bumper. I will take and upload more pics if any of you is interested. Be patient.
Original mesh grill inserted
Original mesh grill taken off
Pieces inserted ready to screw
DRL installed and screwed (viewed fron the inside)
DRL instead of mesh grill
DRL on (a very sunny day)

opposite-lock...
colleague of mine here has them on a blk non sport W220 S500 - IMHO I think they look silly (sorry)... esp when off
even on the new cars I think they look silly (I've resorted to calling them faggy lights), I esp despise how every friggin mfg has jumped on Audi's bandwagon and slapped them on
I applaud Volvo for being different tho, I dig their 'glow stick' motif they chose
on an older design car such as a W220, I just feel they look out of place / context - sort of like putting too modern of a wheel on too classic of a design car
not to mention, I haven't looked but I'm betting them there side grilles had a purpose previously... like... ducted cooling to (insert: brakes / trans cooler / PS cooler / oil cooler)... just sayin
but of course - to each their own 8-)

Neither do I. Just use Google Translator or contact seller in english language. I did so, and we wrote several mails in english before buying. I'm spanish and I don't know almost any word in german. Don't let language being a problem on the internet.

OK, in summary so far:
'I might get a pair...'
'I like them...'
'They look horrible...'
'They look good...'
'They look silly...'
'I want to order them...'
'That doesn't look very good...'
'...'
Everyone has their own opinion and that must be respected above all.
My opinion, once I bought-installed-tested them, is that these DRL have a very good value for money.
-They fit 100% mesh grill (screwed, not glued).
-Many configs available (DRL only, DRL+position, signal light...).
-High power LEDs according to DRL regulations.
-Non standard design (only for facelifted W220 with regular front bumper).
-Chromed finish like my headlights (you may not like this).
At this moment, this is my choice for a safer driving at daytime. If I upgrade to a sport package anytime, I will go on to other DRL system similar to Audi's, Volvo's, BMW's, Ford's... I don't care my MB looks like an Audi because of DRLs. Particularly I don't like Volvo's DRL (they light powerless at daytime). I think Audi was relatively late to offer airbag systems on a broader scale while other brands like MB or GM did long before. So who copied who? Just enjoy your car safely. By the way, my previous car was an Audi A6 without DRL.
I don't consider W220 a classic yet to keep it as original.
I prefer a nowadays fresh air looking...

I agree they look out of place on w220. I like some of the new cars that have them but some just look "faggy"
