Mercedes 2004 S600, 2010 S550, Porsche Speedster, C4S
2004 S600 for sale

AMG Sport
I've had this car since March 2007, I bought it with 8600 miles on it, today it has around 85000. I bought an extended warrantee, and have taken meticulous care of it, since the warrantee was essentially identical to a new car warrantee. This warrantee expires Nov 5, 2012. So, if someone were to buy this car, they would have the peace of mind of knowing that they could have the car inspected, and if anything was found to be amiss, they could have that fixed at no cost.
The car does need new tires, and new front brakes, within the next 2000 miles or so.
I am asking 18000 firm for the car. I also have an extra set of snow tires which were just bought in March of 2012, they are Michelin Alpines, like brand new, on their own set of 18 inch rims.
It's in really good shape, I have really babied it, all the services have been performed at the correct intervals, etc.
All service work has been done by Motor Werks of Barrington, an authorized Mercedes dealer.
The car has a built in K40, front and rear. It is AMG, 19 inch rims, has Distronic, a most wonderful option, plus lots of the other goodies that were essentially standard on the car. Active Body Control, flat in sharp turns...amazing! Drive Dynamic seats, keyless go, etc. I have the window sticker, manual, spare key, blue tooth, etc.
Silver exterior/black interior, full leather, even the dash, of course..
Located in the northern Chicago suburbs, zip code 60035
For what it's worth, the list price on this car, in 2004, was over $135,000

Your comments on price seem rather discouraging..best to keep it, perhaps..
I have seen cars with more miles go for 20 K plus..
And I must say again, that every little thing has been fixed on this car. The ABC system is practically new...all repairs done under warrantee...
Hmmmm....let's see what comes up...
Anybody have anything encouraging to say??

We are in Cali, Even here compared to Bay Area, Socal is about 4k cheaper. I can easily get the same car with same miles for 15k. Since you sunk in the money just keep it

[on a separate note I can trade. My wife + 3k for your car! Actually the battery was dead so I suggested her to call AAA to get it charged, instead the guy towed the car to steelership in Walnut Creek. I am so pissed that she went for the differential service along with flex disk. I saw the cleared check this morning for $4500. That car itself is worth 3000. Aaaargh...]

Check edmunds.com, 13.5k is a very reasonable price.

For my area, I see trade-in at $16k, private party at $18k, and dealer at $21k......that's on edmunds, no options selected.

EDIT: the same is true for Walnut Creek, CA where you live. Prices also don't reflect any options (distronic), or the extended warranty....

Thanks all...no trades...just a sale...I already have a local dealership where the car has been regularly serviced offering me more than the numbers being gently ( and not so gently) wafted around here...appreciate your kind inputs, but that may be the best option for me...
babyman1737 clearly has the best perspective on my local Chicago area market...Dont forget, to whom it may matter, I am throwing in a set of 18 inch AMG rims fully loaded with Alpines having less than 1000 miles on them, quite perfect for snow country..
any way, wishing all good luck and good cheer...this is just a car after all, perhaps the best car ever built, but then I am biased, as you would be, if you ever owned one of these stealth monsters...just got a new S550, man, it does not hold a candle to this...but it is 4matic...

I think everyone knows what a s600 cost in this forum. We also know how much we can pick one up for today.

Many of us buy our MB far below market price, so if you are trying to find a buyer here for top dollar, this probably isnt the right place.

I paid $5400 for my s430 4 years ago. Any private party would have felt insulted if I offered that much for their car. In this forum, if you take less than $13k you might find a buyer.

Asking for $18k+, and without pics etc , no chance.

no need to be rough, there are lot of new buyers that may pay close what he is asking for. Especially there is extended warranty. I personally think 13-15k is a reasonable offer if the car mechanically and cosmetically in excellent condition.

A note about edmunds.com it is on the high end for most cars. If this is a 2004 toyata camry then it is an easier sell as per the edmunds price, most of the high end luxury cars go for far below that price. For example my 2001 S55 is one of the rare designo silver edition with all the options. I paid 9800 including tax two years ago at 120k miles and the car was in excellent condition.

dont sell the car, simply give it to someone in your family or your best friend. you will feel much better about giving a gift so grand as your prized MB than letting someone you dont know offer a dollar amount that wouldent cash out a used ford fiesta!

opposite-lock...
FWIW, I don't feel book values should be used on these cars. These are opportunity cars, not mass market.

Someone who knows what that is, what buying one of those in THAT condition - from what is effectively the orig owner - with fully sorted warranty service - with some warranty left - with desirable and somewhat rare options - with a 2nd set of OE wheels and snows - in a great color combo - in what is said to be fantastic condition - well...

...that someone knows this is a rare(ish) purchase opportunity - that someone will pay the extra buck. I'd buy the right car for more $ all day than the wrong car for less. Yeah.

Sure I can buy a $13k '03 clapped out and chock full 'o issues galore. Ummm, no thanks. I stepped up for my '05, quite happy I did as my car is near flawless.

I wish you luck w/ the sale. I'm referring my bud here in CT to you who recently expressed quasi-interest in one of these - he also has family ties to Chicago so that may be a bonus.

I'll also agree a couple of the responses were a bit cold.

Sorry to hear about the new S550 8-)... you're right... no comparo.

Glad to see a balanced perspective on these fine automobiles...I consider myself extremely fortunate to have owned one...and encourage those who have yet to indulge....if fortune so permits, give it a shot...if not this one, another one..
