Just Sold My S600

I thought it was time to move my amazing car to another owner....
I went to Bruce Mendel to sell my beast and he got it done in 4 days. Wow.
Big Kudos to Bruce.
I was almost not ready to let it go that fast, originally thinking it would take a month or two.
Well, I'm sure the new owner is going to love her as much as I did/do....

Now I get to start looking for my next V12TT.....

Incidentally, 5 miles away from delivering the car to Bruce, I got pinched by a PA state trooper and he wrote me for 91 in a 65, racing and careless.
11 points, $500 in fines, mandatory 6 month loss of license.
Aye....

A Mercedes obviously!
Oops. Why did you sell it? Possible replacement options?

After he loses his license he'll have plenty of time to think of the replacement.

BTW the Federal highway bill mandates an 85 MPH design or the states is violating the funds acceptance requirement. Federal law trumps state regs. So you were only 6 mph over the "limit"

I haven't even been pulled over, nor issued a moving violation in 6 years....but it was a bit stupid to exceed the speed limit that much in a foreign area...
P.S. I had a family member NJ police shield in my vehicle window. The officer did not care about it whatsoever.
And replacement cars.....my guess would probably be CL65, CL600, SL65, SL600 or whatever else Bruce can find me that's cool and fast & in my price range. I was/am considering a 1965 427 Shelby Cobra replica...I am in no rush.

And plenty of Fidelity Platinum warranty left on my S600 - 2 more years/28k more miles...it was just time to move on and look for another option...sale price on my car was awesome.

And I can't speak to federal/state regulations. What I can tell you is I am not losing my license. No way, no how. Never can be sure how court will go, but I will do my best to reduce some of the charges.
Plain and simple, I was not racing anyone.

Good luck with your headache my friend.

Sorry to hear you sold her, but I am sure another V12 will be just around the corner.

I don't get these highway rules.

THE GSP speed limit says 55-65. The average speed is 85 mph and the left lane is moving at 90 mph.

So how are they writing tickets?

Where did you read that. I find 55 everywhere and it was repealed.

Thanks MRAMG1. I appreciate the kind words...I think I am shooting for next winter to buy another. I am truely fighting with the fact I want a 427 Shelby Cobra Replica from Superformance or Factory Five. It's so limited as to when you can drive them (weather)....

And they are writing tickets when you stick out of the crowd on the highway.
When you're the one going 80 and no other traffic is around you, you're toast.
Or any sort of erratic driving.

Hey Chris-

Congrats / condolences on selling your 600. Brucifer once again decisively proving he is very much THE MAN.

Dewd, collossal bummmmmmmmer on the poh-poh... hellalame! D'oh.

Man, you musta really pissed him off - I blew by one last yr @ like 135 one while he was driving and he was generous enough to write it for 85+... which I then whittled down in appearence 8-). <cough>That was the 3rd of 'those' last year no less<cough> Um er uhhhhhh no comment...

Regarding AC Cobra... the Superperformance is worlds better than the Factory 5 kit, e36 subframes and what not. I whirled my bud's and was pretty impressed. I toured ERA earlier in the year, that was enlightening (literally built in like sheds - nutty).

However, like you said... it's a pretty hard car to 'use'. Token top and side curtains, tons of unwanted attention, awkward driving position, traction challenged (understatement), etc.

I personally feel they've jumped the shark (evvvvveryone has one nowadays unfort)... fun to look at but I'd spend my doughrayme elsewhere - but that's just me 8-).

Keep in touch, regardless. Good luck w/ yer situ... feel free to email me for some of my experiences 8-/...
