I'm not going to say "it" even though everyone knows what "it" is.
ok, the front end is down. Turn the car on...what happens? Does it say airmatic, drive carefully, or airmatic, do not drive, tow to workshop or equivalent? More importantly, does the car raise back up?
Most likely you have leaking struts up front. This is not uncommon, and not horribly expensive, so long as you don't leave it as is. Doing so will burn out the pump.
Now then, if the car raises up when you start it, drive it to a mechanic who can diagnose whether its the strut tops, the bag, or some other issue. From there, you can either diy, or have them fix with Arnott industries struts. Plan for between $500 and $1000 to do this.
If it doesn't come up at all, check to see if you can hear the compressor. If not, check/replace the relay. If the compressor runs but the car doesn't come up at all, you can check for bad air lines (unlikely) or you can tow it to a shop and see what the hell happened.
Finally, given that cold air is more dense (especially if its that cold), the car can be 1/4" to 1/2" lower before you start it. Once started (or unlocked), it should raise right back up.

Yeah i agree. Find out what it is and if it is the strutt go with arnott less than 500 and get an indy to put it on. Less than an hour. did mine a few months ago. if you in bkln new york my indy is does great work let me know. Other than that if you can afford it do both sides. Good luck.

I just had the same problem, I walked outside on a VERY cold day and just my front end was down, then I warmed it up and the "Stop car too low" light went off and it raised up. I was wondering if the cold weather was the problem. I'm getting a new relay just in case. I sprayed the valve block, hoses, and strut tops with soapy water and didn't find any leaks.
