Finally went for an Iphone 5 with bluetooth connection on my S600, the issue is the person I call does not hear me, but I hear them. On the Command screen it says "Speaker Off", tried the buttons on the steering wheel and does not change a thing. The previous phone Razr V3M worked fine with bluetooth.
Where else is a setting for the Command speakers or Iphone 5?
(Playing with Iphone 5 is what started the cascade of issues with discharged battery and weird car battery charger behavior, etc that I posted previously, apparently, all those amenities draw far more juice from the battery than the car can regenerate running at idle).

I have the same problem on my 2003 S430 with two different phones (neither of which are the phones used by the original poster).

Could the microphone be shot? Does the Bluetooth use the same mic as Linguatronic? You could test that...i
Isn't there a Mute button for the microphone of some kind that could have accidentally been activated?

In my case, the mike works perfectly for the Voice Commands, no muting for the voice commands or for dialing the number. Only problem is that the called/calling party can't hear me.

Hi.
Not every hole in the wall serves you power...
The Comand Aps DVD does only support a headset but does not support the required BT profile for a iPhone.
Buy the matching Uhi adapter for your iPhone to enable BT HFP.
Cheers, Frank

Maybe others read the manual and did not even try to pair a device with the Comand unit that did not even exist when last car left the factory ?
Pair it with the UHI HPF or UHI Iphone adapter.
Point.

I had the same problem as the original poster - the person on the other end of a phone call couldn't hear me. I finally solved my problem, and started a thread in another forum giving the solution. I am adding the info here in case the original poster is still monitoring this thread.
I have a 2003 S430, using the Bluetooth puck to link my cellphone to the car's COMMAND system.
I had two problems:
- The COMMAND system would download my cellphone phonebook, but insisted on using the PO's (Previous Owner's) phonebook from the COMMAND system instead. I erased his numbers, but couldn't get the car to use my numbers.
A friend (who also owns an S430) and I jointly bought a Chinese MB Star system. I spend some time going thru some of the things that we could do with the system, and discovered that I could tell COMMAND to install a phone with enhanced capabilities. Problem solved - the COMMAND now downloads and uses the phonebook from my cellphone (the same phone). I don't yet know if I gained any other benefits.
- The system suddenly developed problems. First, everything was normal, except that the person on the other end of the call could not hear me. It was just as if the car mike was muted. Pushing buttons didn't help.
In a few days, the situation changed. As soon as the phone connected, I got squeals and static - totally useless.
Searching the forums didn't give any answers. I finally decided that it had be be a faulty connection or a broken wire, and that the curly cord on the puck was the most likely suspect. I remove the cord and rang it out while twisting and pulling. Not the problem. I reassembled it, and the phone and car would no longer pair.
A few minutes investigation showed that the problem was the connector between the Bluetooth puck and its cradle. I pressed the puck more firmly into the cradle, and it worked - as long as I held it. Pressed it firmly in, and applied black electrical tape around the puck. Problem solved. I suppose that I should have used duct tape, but the electrical tape looked better...

Skylaw has spent a huge amount of time and effort to help us in this area.
1) Go to the bottom of this page, to where it says "Forum Jump" and click on the little down arrowhead. Scroll about halfway down the list and find "Audio and Electronics". Click on this, and wait for a moment.
2) When the Audio and Electronics Forum page opens, look at the top of the page, and find the "sticky" that says "1. HOW-TO GUIDE FOR CELL PHONE UPGRADES, PLUG-IN AND BLUETOOTH".
3) Click on this.
4) Read. Think about it. Read some more. Try to understand what is a pretty complex subject.
5) Send Skylaw a thank-you message.
I hope that this helps!

Guys, indeed, I do keep track of responses to my original posts, so, let me
thank all of you for coming to the rescue.
Well, I too have benefited immensely from Skylaw's knowledgeable responses, this is not my first difficulty with the car in question, but his posts, as always, aided a lot of us when help was needed.
In this occasion, I think, it is not a pairing problem but issues with the connector itself as has been suggested previously. A loose connection inside the puck receptacle may be the culprit. Thanks again to you and Skaylaw for his participation.
