Put grey bottle p/s fluid in p/s reservoir and pestocin chf 11s in abc reserv..what!!

Ok , so the incident was 2 years back. I went to the dealer and ask for ps fluid and the "lady" told me to get the grey bottle. I needed the ps fluid because the indie broke the ps line. Last week my car made high hissing noise from the front right engine and after reading the threads here it probably needs new front accumulator / dampener. The ABC light also came on then off quickly when I went over bump too fast.

Soon after the front right sat low. It went back up after I pressed the suspension button. It has been normal, though the whole week has not passed. The suggestion for this from reading here is to change the abc filter to the new 3 mic size

And from here too I just found out that the ps fluid and abc fluid is the same for car with abc. arrgh! But I have been driving this car for good 10k now with the fluids mixed.

So what I will do is to have all fluid replaced from both ps steering and abc line. How would you flush them all out, hand pump them out ? How the dealer will deal with this issue? What damage has been done? Can indie do this? The car is 02 s600.

Thanks

Don't quite understand - did you put PS fluid (ATF, Dexron, whatever) in the ABC reservoir?

My understanding now is that since ps pump is also tandem pump for abc that means both system sharing the same fluid although the fluids pour in from diff reservoirs. That means fluid from abc line can possibly get into ps line and vice versa since they are sharing the same pump. I hope my assumption is wrong. So what is the possibility that the ps fluid from ps line get into the abc line since they both sharing a pump and unfortunately using non pestocin chf 11s fluid in my ps line.

Nick, I put the grey bottle ps fluid, red in color, from the dealer into the ps reservoir.

Thanks for all your inputs.

Tandem simply means that it powers two systems. Those systems don't share fluid.

That said, you've got a mix of the wrong fluid in your PS system. You can mitigate this by extracting the fluid from the PS reservoir and replacing with the correct fluid - you'll change out about half of what's in the system. Do this 3 times, with some run time in between (mixing), you'll be close to 90% new fluid and you can stop worrying...

The "grey" bottle from MB is Pentosin 11S (in their own bottle), MB usually doesn't sell Pentosin 11S as a "brand". They are the same (if they are green).
