when airmatic goes bad...

A month after I got my S the airmatic failed on me, luckily I still had warranty to cover it, and had all the bugs fixed when I got the car lowered. I just wanted to show some pictures of what happens when it fails.

What do you mean? People pay EXTRA for that ride height! Just kidding. Any damage to the bottom?

I honestly liked it, and would have kept it that way, its just the annoying airmatic like kept coming on.

Yeah, it does. All he needs are some nice rims and that would look pretty tight!

hunglo what did you use to drop it? i'm thinking of going with rb tech's system. it looks like metal arms which can be adjustable from 1.2" to 2". performance parts sells them. do you know if it would void the warrantee? thanks

How much did it cost, eventhough it was under warranty, just for information, mine is out of warranty now

I had the same problem, at 52K miles.

My service rep got done under warranty. Otherwise, 4 airshocks were $5800 + labor. OUCH!!!

hunglo you're car looks beautiful with those rims. my car looks similar to yours minus the rims. :p it's silver and i have the chrome headlight rings so far. i'm looking into rims. i want two sets. i plan on selling my 16" stocks and getting 18" silver amg's and maybe 20" chrome lowenharts. can i ask how much you paid for the rb tech lowering kit and how many inches you dropped it? also, how's the ride considering it's both dropped and riding on 20's?

I got a real lucky deal because the shop I bought the RB lowering kit had a used one from a customer that was putting his S back to stock. I got the whole kit and installation for $400. When I had the 255-35-20 (i think that was the size) tires the ride was a little rough, but when I switched to 245-35-20 my ride smoothed out...

hunglo, do you suggest anywhere for me to go to in order to buy used or atleast cheaper than performance parts? also, is it something that could be installed by an average person or should i not even think about it?

I wouldn't suggest installing it myself... Any mistake you make could be a costly one...
