Purchasing a Brand New 2004 S500L - info required please

We are looking to purchase a brand new S500L and was wondering if anybody here has one?

The first thing that has to change are the standard alloys which look a bit rubbish, has anyone got a picture of a 2004 S class with the 5 spoke single piece AMG wheels?

Does the S500L come with dual exit exhausts?

Does anyone have pictures of the interior with black nappa leather and walnut trim?

Also does anyone know about shipping times from order to the date its built? Ive been quoted by a UK dealer that it could be 16 weeks.

Sorry about all the questions.

Btw I have been lurking these forums for a long time and I love it, treynor your renntech s600 rocks!

Thanks in advance.

Interesting that you are still able to order a 2003 model. If you are looking for detailed pics i suggest you visit ebaymotors.com, there are always tons of pics to view, and you will most likely find exactly what you are looking for.

I just ordered My new S600 on Friday. I had the hardest time finding one that was avalible to buy. They all had deposits down on them already. But i finially found one somewhere on the east coast. They are shipping it as we speak to Colorado. But anyway, i was told by Mercedes that if i special ordered one that it would take up to 90 days. Hopefully you can find one around so you dont have to order it.
Good luck

Cool, I would also wait out for the 04's because they have the new 7G tranny.
And some other things, can't remember.
Good luck on your purchase.

Here's a pic I found on ebay with the 5 spoke wheels...

Are not even a little bit visible? From the outside does the LWB have a considerable difference compared to a SWB? I always thought I could tell the difference but that might have been just me

maybe a little bit from certain views but most people would probably not notice them. The only time I saw an SWB S class I instantly knew it was a SWB (in canada). Here in the States all they offer is LWB. So since I am so used to the LWB the SWB was very noticeable to me anyways. I beleive the rear door is shorter, other than that I dont know many other ways to tell.

Its quite the opposite over here. The only people who have LWB are the cheafeur companies and now us Heated rear seats would be very nice

Are the rear seats reclinable too? How far flat will it go?

I have been in the cars that recline, and its not very much. Maybe somebody can post a pic of the car with rear seats reclined. Its reclines to a comfortable position but nothing like the front seats. Also when you buckle yourself in in the back it will automaticaly rise up the head restraint for your seat, on the outboard seats anyways. Also you can raise the headrests from the front dash instead of just being able to lower them. If you go on long trips the power rears may not be a bad option, but to me heated rear seats is good enough as the seats seem to be reclined pretty well in the non power rears.

Good luck

Post pics as soon as you get it.
90 days? wow. Thought there would be some waiting list or something. I've heard people waiting 3 years for their order I ve also heard that one of our dealers near here (houston) changed their waiting period to 5 years or something.

If you want your exhuast to show, just get some tips, cheap, and not much of a hassle! just take your car to some local garage or somethign, and have them weld them on! Then, your 500 will look nice.

Yeah, I'd rather like buy one on ebaymotors or something..
I wouldn't be able to wait 5 years; it would make more sense to order the W221 S600.

GURDAS: DREAMER

Gurdas if you were serious about buying a S500 you would have been to your local dealer and found the answer to your lame questions.

<quote>Does the S500L come with dual exit exhausts?</quote>
Get off your **** and look under the back end.......

<quote>The only people who have LWB are the cheafeur companies and now us</quote>
Not necessarily. Most S class are LWB in the UK.

<quote>Heated rear seats would be very nice</quote>
All LWB come with heated rear seats...

<quote>Are the rear seats reclinable too?</quote>
If you were serious you would know this.....

And here's a pic of my 2000 S500L

Why get tips? Not cool.

There isn't a five year waiting list for the S600 here, there's about four at the three dealers combined right now and each one of them have almost zero people in their list.
