Alpine XM radio

Has anyone had this installed in the ashtray of their S Class?
Were you able to tilt it to the rear at all to see it better, or did it have to lay flat like mine does?
BTW, it sounds AWESOME!

I will try to get a pic posted. It fits perfectly in the ashtray, you can close the door. I am using a new Micro antenna made by Tirk, its the size of a matchbook and I painted it body color- barely noticable.
They have quit making the Alpine units, but Crutchfield still has some. It is FM modulated, but sounds perfect! Much better than my wife's Delphi.
You can control the volume thru the steering wheel, but everything else is controlled by the tuner or remote control.
Its a great thing. My MB dealer installed it.

If its FM modulated, wouldn't that take away some of the quality of the XM stations? Isn't XM is supposed to be CD quality sound?

It really does sound as good as CDs. I cannot tell the difference. No compromise at all, as far as I can tell. The only thing that would be nicer is steering wheel station selection.
