What is free in MB service??

My mom brought her 2003 S500 4-matic to Morristown MB for the first service. The guy was charging her for wiperblades, and also informed her that brake service is not free. Is there any truth to this. Thats just plain cheap, my 40K 330Ci gets free service that includes brakes, wipers, oil, etc, pretty much everything but tires.

Unfortunately, this is true. MB free scheduled maintainance does NOT include wear and tear items, such as wiper blades and brakes. If you have a good relationship with your dealership and/or service advisor, they may be able to work something out, but yes, it's true. Those few items are not included.

This has to be the dumbest thing I've heard. I could have sworn the service advisor told us brakes and such were included. So then what is free, just oil changes, checking hoses, etc. etc.

Are BMW and Audi the only companies that do brakes, wipers, etc for free. Thanks for the help guys!

I think if she had brake problem and wiper problems it should be free. I had my wipers changed and brakes discs and pads replaced all under warranty. I haven't paid for any problems yet.

My rotors and brakes were changed with 18,000 miles on the car free of charge. The wiper blades were also changed because they made noise. As well even the headlight bulbs were replaced when they burned out. Mercedes has been good to me. The only thing they did not cover was the yearly state inspection. I cant complain!!

yea, those blades are rediculously expensive. We had our right side replaced because of chattering and when I saw the invoice for the repair, it was $125 including labor and one blade, but thank god it was under warranty.

Ours were chattering when you had them on, so I talked to my service advisor and he took care of it.

So A doesn't and B does, thats great =P What about brakes/pads/etc.

BMW will even replace the clutch for free in manual cars in some instances, and they do brakes/pads/wipers/belts/etc so I guess that makes them even a better value. But there is no 7 series AWD and on top of that its just plain ugly =P.

Rotors/Pads are not free under Mercedes FSS 4 Year/48,000 Mile warranty unless there is a defect with them during this period. Normal wear and tear don't apply.

This is where BMW defenitly has a better warranty program.
