2000 S500
2000 S500 has 306k miles.
Going strong with only a few replacement but as long as I’ve cared for her and made all of the replacement she just keeps going! I love it! Absolutely great car. I hope she makes it to 500k. Maybe even longer. 😊

Mercedes is indeed still a Mercedes.
It's a machine. Replace parts as they break and it goes forever.
It does get old having to spend $500 every few months on something asinine.
Pushing 300k on the '05 S500. Still drives fantastic. The ABC Suspension is GOAT.

2003 4Matic model 397000kms and original everything except suspension parts $$ Engine runs a little bit rougher than new and the trans shifts a bit slower and a touch more clunky. I'd say another 50-100k shouldn't be a problem at all. Rust and Hail damage but the roads around here in AB Canada are rough on anything! It's one of my "winter beaters" and I love driving it. Also have many other Benz models with over 300000kms all M112 and M113 engines and 5 speeds.

141K miles and runs great. Currently correcting some neglected maintenance from the PO.....the usual motor mounts, oil leaks and fluids needing flushed.

long lived Merc
The older MBZ are subject to age-related electronic and connector failures. Rubber components do harden and get stiffer and brittle. Plastics do tend to crack as they age. Windows delaminate, window actuators crack, and seat heated cushions fail, but by far the most troublesome are the wiring-related failures. Water intrusion into cabin structure can be terminal as it runs unnoticed under the carpet and can cost $thousands. While the cars are generally waterproof, those seals and sealants get brittle and leak. All the rubber bushings and bumpers will need replacing. Window seals need replacing. RUST of body parts is an area requiring at least annual inspection and clean-out and resealing. There are numerous points requiring frequent inspection and resealing.
I still am amazed at the short life of the rubber and seals compared to those of General Motors and Ford.

all true but this is all over the life of a car on an as needed basis
i do agree they are not entirely waterproof with the trunk seal leaking water into where the amp is on rear wheelwell
covers go a long way and good storage if the winter is brutal
