S Class Chrome Exhaust Tips - INSTALLATION

Hey I just received my Chrome exhaust tips. I initially had planned to do the installation myself without any help but now that I look at it I may need someones advice. Does anyone know the step to step process of installing these things or have installed some themselves who can help out? Thanks.

Armani, it's easy, just a little time consuming to get them just right. All it is is a series of allen screws (3 per side). I tucked mine up pretty close to the bumper (non- Sport).
Be sure to use blue Loctite on the screws and they will never come loose.

formymercedes.com has them. Jerry there is a good guy.
I would not weld them, in case something better comes along in the future. The screws work just fine.

Thanks crankin for the advice. Before I put them on I want to buy the "blue loctite" you mentioned but I'm not sure where exactly to go to buy some. Do you think any Auto Zone should carry some? Or Ace hardware?

Also, when looking at your car from the side is it apparent that there are chrome tips or does it appear to be similar to the S600 exhaust?

Thanks

I purchased the loctite at the local NAPA auto parts store. The tips look great from the back, but from the side they do kind of hang there in mid air. I can tell, but I don't think its a big deal. They still look good.
Do you have the chrome headlight rings on your car, and how do you like them?
Thanks

Armani, if you have picture software like Kodak Picture It , you can reduce the resolution of the picture to e mail size or regular. Would like to see your pics. I will be putting headlight rings on my car at X mas.
I will try to post pics of the exhaust tips tonight. BTW, formymercedes.com has some pics, but they minimize the side angle viewws a bit. Still worth checking out.

I have the Schatz version for my 2004 S500 sport. From the side it is unfortunately pretty obvious and not too attractive. I just heard from my dealer that someone had just found an AMG kit which required cutting the under side of the apron, but the tips were original AMG and it looked very good when completed. There was a trim provided to cover the area cut. Apparently this person found this in California somewhere. The tail pipe also had to be cut a little. I heard it cost about $900 after it was all said and done.

That sounds good. Can you find out where it can be purchased at? I wonder if they would need to cut a non-Sport apron.
I also heard Schatz is coming out with 4 pipe tips (like S55).
